I'm actually going to get up at 3 every morning to watch. I'd like to see Tiger win just to prove he has still got it. Other than him I'd like to see players like Rory Mcilroy, Dustin Johnson get up. I had a punt on Francesco Molinari to make top 25 at $4.00. Seems like a good bet to me

i do the same thing for the british open. Die hard!!!

There are a lot of "Sunday" hole locations being used today. I bet the pins will be more accessible tomorrow, and we'll see more birdies.

What are "Sunday hole locations"?

I know the course is set up pretty tough, but I've been pretty underwhelmed with the Golf today. We haven't seen all that many great shots.I'm sure the players are just getting used to tournament conditions out there and it'll improve.. but yeah, today was a bit of a dud in my opinion.

It's the greens, I believe. Not that many people putting well. Lots of short missed putts today.

I think Tiger can get a little carried away with the missed putts. Oh boy, poor me, I missed another one, see?

A freak show because he gets mad at himself? He hates golf? That's pretty subjective and definitely an exaggeration. You can find a reason to hate anybody. Just because somebody doesn't act as you want them to act doesn't mean how they act is evil or "wrong." I've seen plenty of people get just as upset or look astonished when a ball doesn't act the way they want it or expect it to.

Interesting first day - and one that has left me with a quiet smile, as I have a fiver each way on Casey and Poulter - both reasonably long, accurate and good putters. Good at keeping their heads calm, too, these days...

(Have to confess - less happy about the fivers on Westwood and Harrington, atm, and positively distraught about the McIlroy punt!)

What are "Sunday hole locations"?

Tricky ones. Tucked pins. Sucker pins.

I like tiger but will have to agree with you 100%...

In the past, Tiger would overcome such challenges. Right now, he's lost some of his luster and is in desperate need of finding his mojo again!

Of course Tiger is pissed off, he's the best golfer in the world and he's playing bad golf ( in his standards )....so what's the big deal?

We all get pissed off at the game sometimes, and we are nowhere near his skill level, so he has more reason to be annoyed at his game.

The fact is, the greens weren't in great condition, but he did also mis-read them.....I witnessed the bumpy greens he did too.

The way Tiger is hitting his irons yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in contention after today's round.

I still think he is the man to beat.

What do we think the cut line is going to be at? I've got Rhys Davies in a pool and he's been looking good so far today, hoping he can get to +4 with another birdie and sneak into the top 60. Thinking scores in the afternoon will be a little higher, so my guess is +5.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
