What a terrible teaching pro. I mean, to say it's a personal preference is one thing, but to say they are totally worthless is just ignorant. Clearly they serve a purpose, especially on a humid summer day.

I wear a glove the whole time, cause I get tired of putting it on and taking it off.

I wear one. My hands would get ripped up if I didn't. I also sweat a lot and live in Texas, so the extra tackiness is very helpful.

I got a two-pack of the Callaway Warbird for $13 on Father's Day weekend. I really like the glove.

I use our glove for all shots except putting. Although I was told you should have loose hands while putting too and our glove helps with that.

wish i didn't have to, but my hands sweat so bad that if i didn't my clubs would fly out of my hands. i don't use them for chipping or putting though.

Nope, never have. I grew up playing baseball and never wore batting gloves, so when i started playing golf it never even occurred to me to wear one. Didn't realize how odd that is until years after i started playing.

No, but I still keep one in my back pocket. 1.) I like to look cool, and 2.) I like to play with the snap and velcro during match play.

I wear one.

I don't take it off for putting either.
People say that it helps you "feel" the putter more, I don't notice a difference.

If gloves are, "worthless", then why do all the pros wear them??? The person who was next to you at the range doesnt know what he's talking about.

I wear a glove for everything but putting.

Without a glove, I have trouble setting my grip properly and keeping a good left-hand anchor. Also, I get blisters if I play several times in one week.

I checked this thread out because I'm thinking about ditching my glove. I took my Golf Pride NDMC (which I hate) off my wedges and regripped my wedges with just rubber titleist grips and they're comfortable and feel better without a glove so I stopped hitting wedges and putter with a glove and now I'm thinking about going to a nice grip on my irons (NOT NDMC) and just not using a glove. As far as getting calouses. Whatever. 2-3 nights at the range and 2-3 rounds a week might mess my hands up but I'm lucky if I get 100 range balls and 18 holes in one week.

I wear a glove for everything but putting.

I've played 3 times this week and one more round tomorrow. 72 holes and not even a hot spot. I've never had a blister or a callus from golf. Next week I'll be playing at least 6 rounds in 5 days. Did the same trip last year and no problems. You might consider checking how you grip the club?

I found out today just how bad it can be when you don't have a good grip on the club due to a bad glove. Mine were both sweated through so I had to alternate them in with no glove at all. I hit the ball well but my grip was really really tight.

Forgot to say so, and I can't edit the post, but like most others in this thread I remove it for putting. I leave it on for pitching and almost always for chipping.
