What's the furthest you've ever holed out from?

155 posts in this topic

Twice recently players in my foursome have holed out from long range. Probably around 150 yards and 200+ yards. Also, twice in the past few weeks I've left balls peeking over the edge from 135 and 182 (the second one would have been for an Ace). Damn it, it frustrates me because I've never holed out from more than 15-20 yards. So my question is, What is your longest hole out?

About 215y with a 4-iron on a par 5 last summer (6th hole at Deer Run Championship Course) for a double eagle. Never had a hole in one, but I think a double eagle's better.

Around 30 yards. I have been close, eg. this weekend left 3 inches to go on a par 3....but yeah, only around 30 yards....for PAR lol

About 180, downhill with a 6 iron. It was at the 9th hole at Stewart Creek, Alberta, blind second shot over a hill.

Took a line then went back and hit it right on the line.

Playing partner watching from the top of the hill said "Nice shot", then "Wow, that is going right at it", then "****, its in the hole!!". I didn't see any of this.

Two eagles. First was a second shot sand wedge on a par four from 100 yards or so. Hit...checked...and rolled in. Second was a pw from 125 on a par 5. dunked it

140, with a 9 iron, in my fifth round of golf, for eagle on a par 4, the first hole of my Dad's home course. Since most of my shots at that stage were essentially random (nice to know some things don't change all that much), I looked all around the back of the green for the ball, thinking it had rolled off, when my brother went to pull the pin and found it sitting in the cup. Yeah, sure--I meant to do that.

Didn't have my first birdie until four rounds after my first eagle.

182 on my only hole in one. Then 145 for eagle. Others were shorter....50 yard range. I hit my second on a par 5 to about 6 inches once.

Umm... Depends on the club. Anything except for the putter, never. Putter, about... 15 feet? :P

My first one was my longest (so far): ~195 with a 5-iron in 1987 (or was it 1988?)

~123 yds. Number 8 at Magnolia Plantation in Lake Mary, FL. Half swing/punch shot on my 9i, nice draw, rolled right into the hole. I wish my eyes were better, as I didn't see it drop.

Until yesterday, it was a holed bunker shot from about 20 feet. Now, it's about 170 yards.

SO THERE I WAS... 155 yards away from the middle of the green and I had pulled my drive to the left. Dark the clouds were, and the evil of the rough was pulling my soul down to the depths of abyss. As I stood over the ball I gathered all my strength and mental tenacity, it was now or never. My club went back and in one fluid motion I swung for the fences! I looked up to find my ball flying through the air, but it was nowhere to be found! As I listened the split second later I heard it blazing through the grass in the fairway. I had bladed it as though I were a butcher trying to cut through bone.

I watched the ball sprint toward the flag, all the while never leaving the ground. It hit the pin going at least 50 mph and dropped. And so the tale ends in victory.

never had a long hole out before. Had a couple of 20 yards or so flop shots drop. And I've had a number of long chip ins. But never holed out from more 20-30 yards away.
