I had a 340 yard drive today and a 305. I think my average is now 322.5 yards. Hooray me! Videos soon. But I'll be naked.

This wouldn't be an issue if we had all listened to Jack Hamm, purchased a Hammer or Hammer-X driver, and began smashing our drives 450 yards. Debate over. BOOM.

Wow. I had to google that to see what you were talking about and I am still not quite sure if that was real or not? What kind of idiot would actually buy that!

The vast, vast majority of golfers never come to theSandTrap, and never care/learn that much about equipment. Keep running a commercial over and over on a golf channel and I guess you'll hook enough casual golfers to stay in business.

Still they the way they are marketing it is obnoxious, it looks like a complete joke to me. The guy yells WHAM!!!! after he hits the ball haha.

why not?

He has a LOAD of shoulder turn, keeps his downswing wide. It doesn't look like a very consistent swing, but i'd say he would crank a few big drives out there. On another point, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I find myself to be a average/long hitter in my junior tournaments. I hit drives a round 240-250 max. Is there something in the air in the U.S?

it's

!!!POW!!! And he smacks the ball over the mountains! It looks like he shanks a lot of those drives in the video though lolk.

OK guys, this isn't a Hammer driver thread. We have plenty of those already.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Considering most pro's don't hit it 300 yards I can't understand why people get a chubby by claiming they hit it far.

My range ends at 250 yards but there aren't any yardage signs just flags. You'd be amazed the guys that hit drives that land 40 yards in front of the back of the range thinking they just smacked one over 300 yards. I love the look on their face when I tell them the range only goes 250 and their drive managed about 215 with 200 yards carry.

Pro's don't average 300, but most of them hit it 300 quite a bit.

While you could be right that that particular shot wasnt 300 yards, my clubhead speed, whether you like it or not, according to a custom fitting session, a few weeks after that swing posted, was consistently 116-118 with that swing tempo. (But my launch angle wasnt good, and same goes for the PTR - which i think is the same as smash factor (?). it was around 1.35 ish i think.)

And as another poster said, it doesnt look like a consistent swing. And being a newbie, i would love to work on consistency rather then distance. Since im mostly in the semi, or the rough when hitting my driver :) Sorry for the offtopic. Just had to clarify that im playing golf to have fun, not to show off for people i dont know (no showing off with that swing eiether way though :P )... And if i post here its because i need advice or in this case posting a video clip of my swing. No intentions of bragging, or claiming i can do something i cant. Because i know, that my swing sucks, but the speed, is there, whether you like it or not. Thanks. Chris.
