Just got home a few hours ago from the first round @ Dubsdread...perfect weather, good crowds. Still a huge gallery for Tiger, Dustin had a pretty big one as well - nice course to watch a live event on - this was my second Thursday round (went last year), and although I don't get to experience the weekend drama, I'll take the close access that Thursday provides anytime. (Oh, and the VIP hook-up is nice, too). Amazing how tough of a time the field had hitting some of the fairways (especially 18).

I believe Tiger has to finish in the top 5 to advance to the championship and as much as I love Tiger...I don't think that will happen after today's opening round. I hope he proves me wrong.

I'm with you there. His only hope is that the course gets tougher and the leaders don't go too low. Unlike last week at Deutsche Bank this course is supposed to be tougher. Tiger will bounce back but I doubt to finish in the top 5.

he hit 2 absolutely amazing recovery shots yesterday on his back 9, the one onder the tree in front of him and then over the tree guarding the green, and then one from the downslope in front of a fairway bunker.

he hit 2 absolutely amazing recovery shots yesterday on his back 9, the one onder the tree in front of him and then over the tree guarding the green, and then one from the downslope in front of a fairway bunker.

A bad score (relatively speaking) and 2 or 3 heroic recovery shots that keep him coming back.

So what you're saying is Tiger is golfing like we do?

He can still make a move in the weekend, but I doubt it.

Let's talk about those in the top, Charlie Wi is at -7, -3 today and he just hit his tee shot 225 yards to 8 inches on the par 3 14th.

No Cut. (This sentence is to get over the 9 characters limit.)

Looks like Tiger needs to pull a Tom Gillis to get into the TOUR Championship.

There's a sentence I never thought I'd type.

I really hope Charlie Wi wins. But this tournament could belong to anyone who is under par at this point.

I think it could belong to anyone up to +2...scores are not going low...at all.

I'm usually down with Ryan Moore's wardrobe, but even I have no idea what he's trying to do with the black shirt/white tie/hooded sweatshirt combo. The 74 he just posted is assuredly a just punishment from the golf gods.

Tiger along with many others got killed by Cog Hill. Guess Tiger won't be dominating the BMW this year.
