I've been in a little bit of a funk as of late, however I can't say the same for some of my playing partners. I've played with 3 different buddies over the last 2 weekends that have all shot their lowest scores of the year so far. One of them said it was his career low of 84, another was 3 under par at one point on the back nine, something he said he can't ever remember doing, and the other had one of his best nine hole scores ever when we played, followed up by his career low of 79 (I wasn't playing with him this time).

I'm glad some people are playing their best golf ever at least. This year has been a breathrough year for me as well as I shot under par for the first time on 18 and also had a few other rounds of even par for the first time. Next year my goal is to shoot in the 60's for the first time.

Any good stories about career rounds in a crucial match or tournament? What are some of the things you took away from your career round and have you tried to use the experience in future rounds?

I would love to one day shoot under par!

My best round ever was 79, I did it back in May or June I think, hit almost all greens and just felt relaxed and in a good zone. I want that feeling again of pure confidence at each address....hopefully I can get my swing changes sorted my next Summer

Had a handful of low 80's, but breaking 80 was my biggy.

Downhill since then though :)

I shot a 78 this year and haven't been able to reproduce the consistency. I'm starting to worry more about scoring though and I think that if I can nail down my short game (which I did on that day), then I'll be able to shoot low 80s, high 70s every day even if my swing isn't the greatest. At least, that's the idea

I am getting my game back...having basically 2 jobs, kids, etc.. compared to 2001-2002 (my peak years) is like night and day on the golf course...so my career rounds exist back in that time frame.

- lowest round 64 (8 under) with 2 bogeys. slope 130, rating 71
- best lowest round 65 (6 under) with 3 bogeys, slope 126, rating 71.9 (harder course IMO)

Had a 94 earlier this year; pretty much only came after a revamp of my swing (switched to SnT) and just trying to hit it. I made the most of my limited use of the driver and the rest of my swing kinda all came together. Lately I've been hitting it streakily but I think I know what I'm doing when I hit it well.

best round to date, 68 at Langdon Farms, 73.5/128, this was 6 years ago

Best complete round, The sanctuary golf course in North Canton, Ohio. I haven't picked up a club in about a year, but i did keep in shape and took some racquetball lessons at college for a quarter, i think this helped me alot. Well i go out and shoot 2 over par for 18, but i was never in trouble. Not doubles, all pars, few birdies, and a couple bogeys.

Now i have shot the same score at Legends of Massillon, in Massillon Ohio, were i shot 3 under on the front nine, very fun. But i had an issue on the back and shot about 6 over.

So for 9 holes, 3 under, for 18, i think 2 over... Its very very tough to shoot under par, more so in the 60's. I know, its tough to make the putts, thats what it comes down to.

My personal best ever total is a 63 a number of years ago on a 6200 yard par 71 (70.0/121).

Best tournament round also came a number of years ago, 68 on a 7000 yard par 71 (74.4/136). Followed that one with a 71 the next day.

My best this year is a 67 and 65 (consecutive 32-33 9's over 2 days) on a 6000 yard par 71 (69.0/125). Also shot a few 68's and 69's this year as well. I did pound out a 29 on 9 earlier this year as well, par 35. Followed that up the next day with a cool 39...

My lowest rounds were so long ago I can barely remember them (> 20 years ago). My low for the past 2 seasons is still in the memory banks though (42/35 for a 77 on a par 72 course) so I'm gonna go with that one. If I hadn't started out 6 over par after 4 holes, that 77 coulda been a . . . 77. I'd have probably pi$$ed away some strokes on the back 9.

On 8/21/10 (6876 yards 71.9/127) an 82 for a differential of 9.0, 43/39, 9 FW, 8 GIR, 30 putts. 2 birdies, 8 pars, 5 bogies, 2 double and a flippin' triple

It's not my career low round but it's a pretty good story. I used to have a client that would come into my bank a few times a week. We'd always talk golf, tell each other what we shot that week etc...

Well, after more than a year of talking golf, we finally got a chance to play together. On the first tee I hit the ugliest duck hook ever into a greenside bunker on the next hole over. It took me two shots to get out of the bunker. I basically looked like a complete hack on my way to a nice round 10 on the first hole.

I was so embarrassed because he was probably thinking that I'd been lying to him about my game for the past year. I played the next 17 holes more determined than I had ever played before. I ended up shooting 38-36 for a 3-over 74.

My career low was a 75, shot it in June of 2008. It was on a 6500 yard course, par 72. Shot 40, 35. I shot a 78 in a competitive round in matchplay. That was fun, I just killed him. I haven't broken 80 in 2 years. I am longer yet more inconsistant. Next year, I will be better.

I shot an 80 earlier this year at Isleta Eagle golf course (68.2/122). My short game came through for me that day, I didn't hit the ball any better than I do when I put up a high 80's round.

My lowest is 72. I was 2 under going into 17 last year and went double, single for a 73. This year's lowest is 76. Nothing special this year

72 at Desert Pines in Las Vegas from the blues several years ago. It was in the dead of summertime, the course was empty and we played as a twosome in 2:50. The extra roll on the pool table type fairways, a cart GPS and the ability to drive the carts most anywhere didn't hurt either. I had 5 birdies (3 on the par 5s) and bogied the 18th when I went boldly for the birdie that would have given me a 1 under 70.
