Hey guys, here's my swing as of now...What do you think? comments questions concerns? I'm pretty concerned. I guarantee it's one of the longest swings you'll ever see haha.

I hit it about 265 yards, with a slight fade...unless I don't.

Wow, thats one unique swing. Your so thin and flexible you can do all these crazy positions like a wet noodle.

your backswing looks quite flat, and so your first move at the top of your backswing is up which is why you are coming into the ball vertically and fading, explaining the flat-->vertical swing. Ideally, you would want your backswing to be a little more upright, and your downswing a little lower and flatter to be more on plane.

Very long backswing, flat arm angle, lots of lateral head movement, club comes back way under the plane, your first move down is a bit over the top. Your impact position is pretty good though. Where in MA are you from?

Swing is way too flat. Work on keeping your hands more in front of your body while making a good shoulder turn.

Golf is a game in which the ball always lies poorly and the player always lies well.

I think the hands are to far away from the body, they could get deeper. I believe this is causing you to be flat. at 0:17, i think you have officialy did a 180 on Furyk's swing, your golf shaft is parallel to the ground vertically ;b

I might say you are on your heels to much, maybe get the knees a bit straighter and get over top of the ball more, and drive that right shoulder under your chin more. Your left shoudler drives your head back off the ball causing your lateral motion in your backswing.

yeah really long swing, and my head moves a ton. The first range is at Turner Hill in Ipswich, the second is at Ferncroft.

If you could get that right elbow tucked in at ALL, with all that flexibility...you'd be scary. If you're hitting a consistent 265 with your body going in 28 different directions....man....dude....whoa.

Dude, it's not a bad swing. Too flat as others have said. You also move away from the ball laterally way too much. Stay more centered over the ball and that will make a huge difference. As far as the length of your swing goes, I think if you take a look at my swing thread you will agree that I rival you

The takeaway is well on the inside, and this causes the club to come back down way too flat. Adding to that, the swing is well, well too long. This swing looks a lot like my old swing, and I never played that well with it, despite it working sometimes. It was hard as hell to get the club to come back shorter and steeper, but it makes a huge difference.

When you're a little older it'll shorten up. Once you get some muscle mass, the bones in your skull finish fusing together, and you're eating solid food (i.e. for your age and your height - recent growth spurt? - you're doing okay).

I kind of don't want to see you change anything and make it onto the tour with that swing.

Looks awesome, even if it isn't traditional...

...but this isn't good advice to follow.

that's my plan hahaha. I'd be the anti-Furyk. WAY inside, first, rather than vice versa.

If you learn to tighten things up at your age, you'll be much more consistent and powerful as the muscle builds and you hone your swing.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
