Who is your fav European player
And your fav American player and why????????
And they have to be still playing.
For me it's Harrington , I know he is out of sorts at the minute, but by god he has some determination never gives up no matter what.
He is smart , well able to express himself and honest.

My fav American is hands down Jim furyk, another pure grinder who can never be counted out. A pure gentleman in every sence of the word.
Has his own swing, doesn't get tied up with all the mumbo jumbo thinkering with it, just goes out and plays, his record speaks for it's self.

That's mine, what's yours??

I'm another Harrington fan, so he gets my Euro vote. He became my favourite initially becuase he played with Wilson clubs like I did at the time (pretty shallow, I know), and from there I've grown to apprciate the way he approaches the game, his sheer determination, as well as his general demeanor around the course - he strikes me as being a decent bloke off the course too. Jiminez is a close second, just because he appears so laid back and cool.

As for the American, John Daly was my favourite but given this is for current players I'm not sure if he's eligible (I can't recall if he's still in his latest comeback phase or if he's packed it in again). I'd love to see him win another tournament because he's such a character with genuine personality.

If not Daly, then I'd pick Anthony Kim.

Charles Howell III will probably be my favorite golfer until he retires. I've stood by him this long, and I'll continue to cheer him on in the future. I cheer for the other Oklahoma State guys (Mahan, Fowler, Verplank, etc.) as well.

As far as European golfers, I'd have to say Sergio Garcia. I know a lot of people don't care for the guy, but I've always been a fan. And when he is on with his irons (been awhile), there isn't anyone more entertaining to watch. I've always liked Luke Donald too.

American: Tiger, but I also like guys like Furyk, Sean O'Hair, Stricker.
European: I'm going to have to agree with Thrash13 and say Sergio. He's fun to watch.
International: I've always had a strange affinity for Vijay.

    • Day 116 12-6 Still working on getting to lead side. Tonight I also tried some skill work with clubface awareness.  Hit foam balls.
    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
