Martin Kaymer's 'scarf'

It's called a Buff, and the particular style he's wearing at the Accenture is the 'Black Fly UV'.  These things are great at protecting you from the sun and can be worn a ton of different ways.  No, I do not work for Buff but I love the product as I work outdoors.  I started using it for golf a while back and some buddies said I looked really goofy so when I saw Kaymer wearing it I had to laugh and tell them to put the TV on.

In Europe, they're known a snoods and are mostly seen on pro footballers in colder weather. I, for one, welcome our new snood-wearing German overlord.

Been wondering exactly what the hell that thing was. At first, we thought it was a turtleneck, but then the announcers kept referring to it as a scarf. I'd never seen a scarf look quite like that. Not exactly my kinda thing, but who am I to judge what the #1 player wears, or anyone else for that matter.?? :-)

How long do you think it'll take Nike, Adidas, Puma, and [insert golf company name here] to start making Buffs/snoods? A Swoosh snood would be interesting...

It looks like it would be great for keeping hail out of your shirt. I can't believe it's hailing there.

I use one when it is cold, not to protect from the sun. Haven't used one when playing golf, but it is not a bad idea. They are light and do a good job at keeping your neck warm. Makes a big difference especially when it is blowing.

I was thinking the same thing... A Titleist snood. I am not ready for that level of marketing just yet.

Germans wore them in ww2 to keep the sand out, eg Rommel in the desert not Kaymer in the desert

I used to wear one of these about 7 years ago when I had my motorcycle. Amazing how "fashion" *cough* goes in circles.

You won't catch me wearing that crap though; to me it's the same as these ridiculous tassle scarves guys wear nowadays that look like granny Phyllis's headscarf or a 70's table cloth tied around their neck.

I cant believe that scarf is going over so well in here. I thought it was hideous. There are some much better options for keeping your neck warm. He looked ridiculous.
