I like the NXT Tours a lot, but they nor any ball isn't going to really stop you from slicing or hooking.  At a 13 handicap I think they'd be fine for you.  I like how they stop on the greens as well with a good wedge shot.  Go on Titleists site, they have a quick online ball fitting app that can help you figure out which one is best for your game.

NXTs arent good if you have ballflight issues.

The Titleist website recomended that I play the NXT Tour, I played OK with it, but I never really felt it was "the ball" for me. One of the guys I played with in our club championship said that from what he had seen of my ball striking I should play the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, I get a lot of Pro V's landing in my back yard every day and I have always given them away to friends that want them, mostly single digit 'cappers.

I decided to give the a try, the first time out with a Pro V1x I shot one of my best rounds ever, a 78. Spinning my wedges back about 8' on my approach shot was amazing!

I now only play Pro V1's and am feeling a lot more confident in my short game.

Saying that, I have had a couple of really bad rounds lately, but I think that is down to having a strained rotator cuff in my left shoulder, but I think I will stick with the Pro V1's.

NXT Tour is a solid ball with long distance and soft feel.  "Straight" will depend on your swing, but it is a great 3-piece ball.

I like the NXT tour and believe it to be the best ball available in the $20-$30/doz price range.  It seems to do everything pretty well and has a nice feel.  I just wish they would make them in yellow.

I played NXT Tours for about a year and a half. Very nice ball, good balance between length and feel.  I've since switched to the Bridgestone e5 which generates a lot more spin on iron shots for me and doesn't seem to cost me anything in distance.

From a HC perspective, it's a good ball, but nothing extraordinary for it's price range. I tried it and a few other mid-priced competitors and found it to be long, but not offer much extra by way of wedge spin. Obviously I'm not generating the same wedge spin that the LCs are, but I got less roll-out with other mid-priced balls. I don't think it's designed to resist sidespin off the driver - there are balls the specifically emphasize that better if you want it.

I am a high handicapper that struggles with a slice.  Like AznMike247, I have a very inconsistent ball flight.  Last year, I tried the NXT Tour and the Bridgestone e6 head-to-head and liked the e6 better for my game.  The NXT Tour is still a great ball, don't get me wrong, but I found that the e6 helped me hit the ball slightly straighter and I tended to get more distance with it.  I will say though that I did managed to spin the ball back a few feet on the green with the NXT Tour. That's the only ball I've ever been able to do that with.

Ive played NXT Tour and Topflight Gamer v2 a bunch this year. Hands down I'd go with the Gamerv2 better price/slightly better performance.

I played it for a while while I was getting my game tuned back up...

It's a long ball but offers nothing in the way of short game performance. Awful wedge spin (check Golf Digest's 2010 ball test...you don't have to take my word for it) and poor durability. There are better, mid-priced, 3 piece options.

. Spinning my wedges back about 8' on my approach shot was amazing!

That should be annoying, not amazing.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

    • We've had the shortest winter I can remember. Only 4-5 weeks of cold and snow, half of them with snow not even covering the ground. The norm is winter temperatures and snow from November-Deccember to April. Today we've had a month without freezing temperatures and the snow has rained away. Hoping for a record early opening of courses.
