Congratulations on watching every minute of every tournament when Tiger's playing and being an expert on his caddy.  I literally can't think of a less interesting thing to be interested in.  Who cares about his caddy?  It's right up there with "who throws a shoe?"

They communicate as good as ever and are still really good friends, as Tiger said just a few months ago on Jimmy Fallon.

I think you have it screwed up there. I don't watch all of Tiger's tournaments because I care about his CADDY, I watch them to watch Tiger. Seeing the relationship between Tiger and Stevie is just something that comes along with that. And I'll guarantee you it's not stale. It's definitely been dull because Tiger hasn't won in so long, but not stale.

I wonder if Tiger decided to put the guy on his bag that did the "Tigers Measurably Worse Golf Swing Video"... :-)

Haven't this rumor came by frequently in the past too? Like someone else said, I'll believe it when I see it. I understand Williams working with other players during Tiger's absence, it's his job after all. But I don't see them splitting up.

Pffft. What about all those guys who compulsively watch every minute of every tournament Ben Crane plays? Those guys are ready to claw their own eyes out.

In my bag:

Good point.  There are far worse choices than Tiger.

Do you really think I meant that you watch every tournament to see his caddy?  Do I have to put in italics or something to specify sarcasm?

Why not? Are they married or something? Like you've just said, it's a job.

Not saying it's not possible, just saying I don't take rumors about Tiger all that serious.

Rumors are true according to Tigers website, They still remain friends, Tiger wished Stevie well in the future and thanked him for all his help.

A lot of negative press out there already making up stories about this split.

That's what Tiger SAID, but they sure don't sound like good friends anymore. Stevie is very upset and angry, and Tiger told him he had been disloyal by caddying for Adam Scott. Stevie said he lost respect from Tiger and that Tiger needs to earn that back.

Sounds like these guys need to grow up to me, If these statements are true. Sounds to me like Stevie is just trying to bash Tiger publicly for getting himself fired.

To be honest, that other thread should have been merged into this one.

    • Day 171 - 2025-03-20 Got a good 30 minutes in today. A little backswing so it doesn't get too far out of hand, then some downswing stuff. If I'm in a good spot at the top I have a chance even without the best downswing.
    • First day of spring and we had colossal snowflakes here.   The temperature has dropped significantly.   I may not get to golf until mid-April.
    • Welcome to TST.   We're glad you've joined.   How exciting to see a hole-in-one.   They are rare.  Congratulations on getting the golfing bug.   It can be contagious and expensive!
    • So to start with I’m 67 years old and just returned to the game a month or so ago after a 30+ year break. . To give you an idea of how long I’ve been away from golf, there were no hybrids last time I got serious about it. I’m enjoying it and seeing gains/improvement every time out. That said, I’m playing with antique woods (Old Taylormade Burners) and since I’m playing with Callaway irons (2004 BBs) I’d like to stick with the brand and upgrade to Callaway woods - at least a driver and a 3 for now.   For a glimpse of my ability, I hit the 3 wood 200 yards and more or less straight, and I think I newer tech clubs might help. Also I’m 6’5” and these clubs are a bit short for me, by 1 1/2” or so.   So looking at the gillions of perfectly fine looking Callaway drivers on eBay I’m completely overwhelmed and under-informed. I’m also doing this on a self-imposed budget since I’m not good enough to warrant new, exotic, pricey stuff and I’m pretty sure anything made in the last 20 years will do nicely.    So given all that, anyone have any specific suggestions on a good/prefered model Callaway driver that can be had for around $50? If I earn better gear by improving my performance I’ll go after it then, get fitted for clubs again, all that. But for now my goal is bogey golf so I’m limiting my golf allowance accordingly.    Thanks, cheers, and happy golfing.  As examples, I’m looking at RAZR, BBII, X460, Fusion FT series, Diablo, etc. and I can’t tell if they are all good and I should just shop price or if one or more are preferable over others. TIA…
    • G'day all. My name's Glenn and my mates call me Corbs. I'm a 50-something-year-old Aussie who HATED golf until COVID when I got utterly and irrevocably hooked. I'm playing three rounds a week and loving it. My best mate that I started golf with during COVID hit an Ace this week! Our foursome - including his son - all watched the ball disappear and we went absolutely mental! Only been playing a few years and improving quickly and trying to get to under 17 handicap this year. Thanks for having me!
