Now the most analyzed left wrist in the history of the Sand Trap! I think we all can agree it is closer to flat than it is to DJ level "bowednessing".

Something like this might be good to look into to.  Impact Ball, Pipoe, nerf ball or a small soccer ball.  Think it would help all the stuff you mentioned in your post.

The impact ball/pipoe - it helps with spacing between the elbows.  How will that help reduce the early extension?  Does it simply ensure that my right elbow doesn't get stuck on the side of my hip at A5++?  Ensures it gets into my belly - and gives the hands a clear path into impact?

I've tried Drew's pipoe at the range, and it was definitely a very foreign feel.  Something that I know is missing in my right arm...

EDIT: I just went and bought a Pipoe online Mike. Just another thing to add to my collection of gadgets!

Because it's pretty tough to early extend if the elbows don't spread apart, allows you to get the handle lower.  Or early extend to the point where it's bad.  Every great golfer has some degree of early extension.

You'll like it.  Just do slow swings with it at first.  I might film a few of myself today.

I've tried to actively cup my wrist at address (middle image), and maintain that cup throughout the swing. But have found during the loading of the shaft - into the transition from A4 to A4++++ it just happens to palmar flex or bowe (right image).  For the most part I can get away with it, but when my tempo gets too quick, my longer irons and fairways tend to come off at a lower trajectory than I'd like to see.

Working with the 5SK/Evolvr guys, the swing pattern that they have me working on is ideal to hit a push draw.  But to be honest, my ball flight tends to be pretty straight to a slightly straight pull.  Some of that I believe is the result of my wrist conditions (bowed) which leads to a slightly closed clubface at impact.

Ultimately, I'd like to hit high push draws - or even high pull cuts.... My dynamic loft needs to improve...  And that can only happen if I can bring my angle of attack - and approach on the positive side.

The big issue I have is with Key #1 at A7:

one thing I don't understand is that if you move your weight to the left side and cause your spine to tilt to your right side as a result, that should result in the new head position right?  how do you slide your weight to the left without a lowering and rightward movement of the head.  afaik all the guys that slide their weight over get the dropping head.

Is dropping the head really all that bad?

As stated above, a little downward movement and even some rightward movement is fine.

Might be a good thread for you to check out

I just had an interesting range session... Tried to really get my elbows close at address, and maintain that.  I wanted to feel like this coming into the ball...  With that clubhead lagging behind the ball...

And tried to cut my finish like this....

That was fun... I hit some trajectories that were piercing.  Gonna roll with these feels for awhile and keep practicing it until the Pipoe gets here...

That is the exact feel that got me into an improved A4 position that I was aiming for.  I tuck the right elbow into the stomach at address and then feel like it stays there.  I really like the trajectory you get with it as well.

Yeah, I try not to get too fixated on it in the backswing... More of a firm placement at address - ensure it's tight.  Then let it go...

I found if I try and maintain that firm - or really close feel throughout, I tend to simply hit pushes out to the right.  Nice and high... But pushed too far off my target (20yds).   But if I get that firm feeling at address, then just focus on a nice smooth one piece takeaway, with the arms/shoulders/hips in sequence... I can hit some nice push draws.  Especially with the finish to A9 like DD.

Love the new thread title. We can probably put my swing thread in here as well.

Is that what we are supposed to do now in this thread is post sexy pitch elbow pictures?

Edit: I also think something indecent it coming out of those shorts above.  That is disturbing...

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
