While a healthy Manning is an upgrade over just about any quarterback in the NFL, as a single-season issue, there's very little future in him. I see him going to a team that's trying to build up something else and have a good offense in the meantime. And I don't see him being very happy ending his career with fewer Super Bowl rings than his brother Eli, Roger Staubach, and/or Rohan Davey. I can't imagine him going to the Chiefs - they already have a pro-bowl quarterback who is 2-for-3 on winning seasons when primary starter. The 49ers have Smith, who I can see becoming a pretty good QB. I don't see the Jets backing off Sanchez at the moment, either. Cardinals paid a pretty hefty price for Kolb, so I don't see Peyton in AZ. Cowboys have a star QB; furthermore, I doubt he's going to play for anyone that plays his brother's team twice a year. So Cowboys and Redskins out. Of the teams you listed, the Seahawks are the only team I can see him going to. Alternately, Dolphins or Titans (not listed). For that matter, I can't see him being happy having a season where he doesn't face Brady at least once (as he has every year they've both been starters).

I have to say ditto on Shindig's thoughts on the chiefs and Cardinals. The 49ers seem to want to keep Alex Smith around, for better or for worse, so I doubt he'll go there. From what I understand the Jets area already $10 million over the cap, so I don't think that's an option. Romo played real well for the Cowboy last year when he wasn't hurt, and I don't think they'll want to move him. The Seahawks are an enticing team from a football standpoint, as are the Redskins. The 'Skins especially have shown they are willing to win the offseason. Neither team has an established starter that they would have to dump. Shindig also mentioned the Dolphins and the Titans. I don't see him going to the Titans because they already have two quarterbacks in Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck and i don't think Peyton will want to play the Colts twice a year. I could see him going to Miami (plus he lives there during the offseason), but Matt Moore actually played pretty well for them last year. They remain an enticing option though, because I think with Manning (and possibly trading Moore) they go right into playoff contention, and the AFC East becomes a legitimate four-way race. The Dolphins were quietly one of the best teams over the second half of last season and they have some legitimate weapons.

The only teams to show interest thus far:

Jets were the first to reach out to Manning but I don't think he wants to deal with media because of him and eli

Denver but I don't think Peyton would want to deal with the drama of Tebow getting benched

Cardinals they play in a dome plus throwing to Fitzgerald would have to be hard to turn down and it wouldn't hurt Kolb to learn from Manning

Dolphins I know Mike Sherman and the owner like Manning a lot but I would assume Philbin would want Flynn. Wayne is already lobbying for both of them to go to Miami. They would be my front runner

Redskins if Manning is looking for a pay day this is his team but I don't think this will be about money

Seahawks have the money but I think the fact that it's isolated and it's an open stadium might be working against them.

I'm guessing there is probably 6 to 8 other teams in the mix but my dark horse is the texans. I could see them signing Manning and trading Shaub since the owner wants a superbowl.

Fins...

Peyton was down earlier in the year eating lunch with Marino. Don't know if he was talking retirement and maybe doing the booth, but now he is back on the market.

I was going to add the Dolphins to the list, but I heard as ClubChamp said they had Flynn is their #1 choice which might mean they want youth and a lower paycheck.  I also didn't include the Bronco's but they are an option as well depending on what progress Elway has made with Tebow.

As a Jets fan I'd love for him to join the team I don't think Peyton wants to compete with Eli for the NY press, plus he's a dome QB and wouldn't like the cold and winds in NJ very much.

I agree about the Dolphins but I know the owner said he would go after Manning heavily if he ever became available. I'm sure Philbin would like Flynn but the owner pays the bills so that's what makes me think they are the front runner. Also with what they are paying Moore they could easily keep him as a back up so they would be set at qb at least.

Did he actually say that, and wouldn't it be tampering? Seems to me the the Chiefs' coach got in some hot water recently for saying something like that.

I think it's been known but no one ever specifically quoted him kind of like "Ross has always coveted Manning" so that wouldn't be tampering. However you are correct if Ross would have been quoted as saying that it would definitely get investigated. Ross wants to put fans in the seats and he knows Manning can do that plus they would most likely become a winner. I think Miami is the front runner for multiple reasons they have money, warm climate, they have good playmakers on O, solid D, and Florida has no state income tax. Now I wouldn't say they are a lock but they certainly have a lot going for them so it seems to make sense.

Peyton has played his whole career with at least 8 games in a dome and three games in warm weather cities.  Include Houston as a dome team now and it's 9 per year.  If he goes to Miami, three games will be in cold weather cities.  Two of the three teams are playoff teams and Buffalo is improving.  It is a tough division.  His career outdoor QB rating is in the 80s.

I like Manning a lot.  I think he is very smart on the field and a good person off the field.  I want him to succeed because it will be good for the game.  I think the best fit for him would be Arizona.  It is a dome team and the other division games are warmer weather.  49rs are tough, but the division as a whole has not been as strong in recent years.  If he wants to get to the Superbowl again, it would be his best option.

LOL, the poll is missing the two most likely places that peyton will end up, Houston or Miami. He is not going to an NFC team because he and Eli don't want to potentially block each other's road to the Super Bowl. Won't go to the Jets becuase NY is Eli's town and he might have trouble adjusting to the cold weather and winds in that stadium.

Houston plays in a dome and was a healthy experienced QB away from the Superbowl last year. They can cut ties with Schabb and Yates can gain experience learning under Peyton for a few years. As far as the Dolphins go, the owner has the desire and the Cap space and Peyton has a condo in South Beach where is family spends most of their time in the offseason.

The Jets just signed Sanchez to an extension, so it looks like that's even further off the table.

The Redskins are trading up to the No. 2 draft pick for Robert Griffin III, so they're definitely out of the Manning sweepstakes.

I am hoping he becomes a Bronco.  We definitely can use a quarterback.  And no, Tebow is NOT a good quarterback.  He sucks as a quarterback.  But he is a good running back...

Are there Las Vegas odds on where he will go?  they bet on everything.

Washington gave up way too much for that pick, 1 & 2 this year, and 1st round in '13 and '14.  That is almost as bad as Ditka giving up all his picks for Ricky Williams.

I wish Peyton well, but would worry with every hit he takes.  He need a great O line to work with too.

From what I've read today, he's down to the Broncos, the Cardinals, and the Dolphins.

I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
