[Ernie Els] won twice two years ago, no?

Yup, the only player to have more PGA wins than Ernie in 2010 was the POY, Jim Furyk. Both are over 40, and have fallen out of the top 60 in the world rankings. But for some reason, there are not a dozen posts a week saying they are washed up, and should give up the game. Sorry Ernie missed the playoff; I've always liked him. Was hoping for an Ernie-Goosen-Furyk playoff.

And Luke is #1 again. What a great shot he hit into the green on the playoff hole! Nice to see the top players playing well before Augusta.

Shortest drive gets the closest approach and birdie putt.

Beautiful.

Garrigus played the hole even better, but it all comes down to the putt. Cruel game.

Maybe because they've never publicly said when they could no longer be the best player in the game they'd retire. Or more likely it's because people thought they already had ;  )

When you can drive the ball 313 yards onto the fairway, it's easier to play that second shot. That guy is a beast.

But I'd say, Luke played the hole best - lowest score wins, and he even played fine shots doing it.

Anyone notice Luke's facial hair?

Seriously.

I'd be very interested to see a link where Tiger said that, as opposed to retiring when he was no longer able to win. Big difference. Besides, IMO it's way too soon to say he can't still be the best in the game. If Furyk can win POTY at 40, I'd say that nobody can be written off until he's at least 45.

Actually that's probably closer to what he said. Either way who cares really..

Oh Ernie...wow! I just watched the finish on DVR...that was pretty hard to watch. But I think his post round interview was even more painful to watch. Steve sands asks Ernie Els if he had the confidence to hit a 4 foot putt!!

Ernie Els was snake bitten at the end. That was hard to watch. It was if I was watching myself out there. Missing every pressure putt.

Steve Sands shouldn't of said that -  a dumb question IMO...Ernie laughed in his face

I probably would have knocked him out or at least bitch slapped him! Not that I think Steve Sands meant any disrespect by it...it was just a really really dumb question. It reminded me of when Jay Leno asked Michael Jordan if he could still dunk...but I think it was way more insulting.

That's an interesting argument.  "If Furyk can win POTY at 40, then Tiger still has a shot."

If you're going to make a Tiger/Furyk comparison, here's one for you that I would say is more relevant:  one of them had a putt to win a tournament this year.  One of them didn't.
