I should also add that I was actually pulling for him to win, because I didn't want to see Bubba win.

Oh well.

I was obviously pulling for him big time as I'm South African but I can't say I have anything against Bubba. A real talent and deserved to win. But I honestly rate Louis has one of the simplest and solid golf swings which will prove potent in the years to come. Coupled with his ridiculous calm and temperament he's gonna do SA proud.

Rory McIlroy won the US Open and hasn't won a major since. He's finished.

Random stat:  just looked at the OWGR (some big moves the last few weeks) and noticed that 9 of the current top-20 are major winners (some are the one-shot wonders discussed in this thread).  Seems like that's a growing trend; used to be just Tiger and Phil and a couple others at different times in the top-20 who were major winners, and then a bunch of young guys with only one or two (or zero) wins on their resume.

And if you look at the other 11 that aren't major winners, all but a few are very accomplished players.  Stricker, Donald, Westwood, Scott, Kuchar, Haas--all guys who have won a lot of tournaments, or who have had sustained success, including in big pressure events.

Looks like the kids are growing up.  Just a though, and OT, so sorry.

Brandon, Louis just won the Malaysian Open :)

He's my favourite player at the moment. Cool as ice that guy. So stoked for him to be finding good form.

Actually, I wasn't trying to disagree with the post ... just make a silly joke along the lines of the Wilson Staff/Immelman/Padraig/Barnes TV commercials.

Full disclosure:  I totally agree because at the time I didn't even remember what he had won (since that time I realize it was a few years ago Masters) so if he's that forgettable, then I would say he qualifies as a one hit wonder.

What - no love for Francis Ouimet in this thread, only won one professional tournament....and they make a movie with that hack Shia Labeouf.

Craig Perks, won Players with an improbable finish then ...  struggled?  Retired after only making one cut during 2006-2007 at the Zurich Classic where he finished 71st.

You clearly don't know much about golf.
