I just read the words "Butt Paste" being used in a serious manner. I'm not sure if I love this forum or have grown to be utterly terrified of it.

I used to have a bad problem with this. I'd get the chafing real bad and it would take up to a week to heal sometims. Hasn't happened to me at all this year thanks to one simple change...goin' "commando" or "free balling" it so to speak. Haven't chafed at all this year.

I've run into this problem a time or two in my life. The most effective solution I've found is some Vaseline cream lotion type stuff. Apply liberally in the morning, and you're good for a day of golf.

I was on Under Armour website. What are compression shorts? Are they actual underwear? I saw boxer briefs. I don't get chaffed playing golf. But I just started running and I do get chafed from that. I wear boxers and regular Homer Simpson briefs(not white though) and nothing helps.

A&D; ointment is the key if you ever start chafing. When you get home throw a little on where it hurts and it will clear it up in a day. Its great stuff, you get instant relief!

Compression shorts are just what they sound like. They are kinda like a large pair of boxer briefs, but tighter. Made of the same material used in their shirts so when your legs rub together they dont catch on fire. lol Keeps all your junk in one spot.

Aaaaahhhhhhhh. Thanks. I think I'll hit Sports Authority tomorrow to find buy some. Maybe Target too. I do need some tech t-shirts for my running while I'm at it too.

That's a great deal, especially because Starter is owned by Nike. So you basically bought Nike shorts without the swoosh.

While its true that Nike bought them, they are NOT the same quality (not that I expected them to be). I bought a pair of Nike's from a Nike Outlet store for like $25 and they are much better quality than the Starter ones. That being said, Starter ones are only $10 and available at Walmart, and while they aren't as nice, they get the job done.

Long story short, I like the Nike one the best, but I only bought one of those, and 5 Starter ones Its all about bang for your buck

Good topic guys. I play lots of sports and used to have serious issues with swamp ass and chafing in my nether region. Especially during volleyball tournaments. Lots of talk on here about compression shorts and a few mentioning briefs. Under Armour Boxer Briefs solved the issue for me. I don't care for the actual compression shorts but the boxer briefs are light, comfortable and great at wicking away moisture. Plus, for running they are long enough to prevent a bit of chafing I get on my upper/inner thigh (especially at the beach where a sandpaper effect comes into play).

Started playing properly 7/8 days ago........yes days. Did my first full 18 holes today and I am broke, properly ruined. I have at least 4/5 blisters and I have been chaffing like a C***. I can barely walk. Any advise will be most gratefully received.

I think most athletes have this issue at some point. I play soccer as well, and it's more of an issue there for me than it is on the golf course, but it definitely happens on hot days. Here are my two pieces of advise.

2) Under Armour compression shorts. They fit so tight to your legs that your legs won't rub together.

All  you needed to do was to read through post #2 of this thread and you had your answer.  LOL  C'mon man!

A pair of Under Armours or any brand underneath your golf shorts will do the trick.

They sell it at dicks and the stuff is awesome.

This stuff is great did a lot of back packing with my sons Boy Scout troop and used this. Never once had an issue they make it in the size of a 1/4 of a stick of deodorant so you could keep it in you bag.
