It does seem like the drive to play golf again does not exceed the comfort of $10 million, he could earn that money and then some with a lot of hard work, over the next decade, but he could also just hang out and do whatever, forever, would many choose the golf?

And, depending on how he recovers from his injuries, he may not even come close to making half that much even if did put in the work and gave it 100%.

He's going to be 31 this year so if he decides to take the money from the insurance policy, then good luck to him.  I hope he's smart with the money and is able to make it grow through investments or what not which, if he does, may end up being more than he could realistically make on tour.

Duval never dropped out, though.  He's played in events every year since he came on the tour - including this year (missed the cut at Pebble Beach).  Plus he's a golf commentator.  Maybe people stopped looking - but he's not hiding, lol.

True, but at one time he was really riding the wave! Wasn't he the #1 ranked player in the world at one time? I just recently saw that he's on the Golf Channel. I wouldn't know that because I don't get the Golf Channel anymore. I used to be able to buy it A La Carte from Dish Network. Then they changed their policy, and I had to buy the premium mega-package just to get it. That didn't sit well with me, and I refused to do it.

Oh yeah - he was the last Tiger before Tiger, lol.  I totally get what you're saying - he was in the limelight but now he's not (as much) . .but that's where the similarity would end between him and AK.  AK didn't achieve a fraction of what Duval did.  AK;s highest world ranking, I think, was 6 . .for a minute.  Duval was pretty dominant for a 5-6 year period - hitting #1 a couple different times.   AK disappeared after his struggles.  Duval kept banging away - playing events every single year including this year.

Going with Phil because I love dogs?

What does that mean?

That Phil is the underdog.

Good golfer, but Hideki is probably the best asian player now, not good looking swing but better than AK

AK hasn’t played in years. So… huh?

Can't speak to the veracity of this claim, but it's out there. For one thing, I can't tell if there's a garish belt buckle. 😜

You have a point, but sometimes I wonder. Heck, it's been so long I can't even remember what his injuries were.

And there's so much money on the Tour these days! There's a player on Tour who lived in this area and graduated from a local HS, so I kind of keep track of him. He's never come close to winning anything, yet he won 1.8 Mill official money last year and 1.5 Mill the prior year. He's finished in the money the past 3 weeks, winning a shade north of 200K. Not bad work if you can get it!
