I think so too, but I don't think that is affecting his play. He just needs to get his head together. But as far as equipement impact I would think the ball would be the only thing to really force him to make adjustments. A high-end MB is a high-end MB and I'm sure Nike crafted his new irons to be indistinguishable from his old ones.

Just be clear, even though I think the biggest change may be the ball, I still don't think it's a "big" change.

Does anyone know if the results of the consolation match go on the players record?

I would imagine so, yeah. Everybody's finish goes on their record I think. If you lose in the round of 16, for example, you get credit for a "T9" ... What kind of shoes is mahan wearing? Anybody know? They look like old school running sneakers.

Good win for Kutchar, but hoped for Mahan......as for McIlroy, he has to work out some swing problems, yes I think the new equipment is contributing but he also isn't swinging well.

Is it just me?  or do the "get in the hole" spectators really ruin watching this stuff.  I realize that to be a golf fan you have to be a bit off normal, but are these guys just completely out to lunch?  I can't imagine anything more obnoxious to the players and the other fans than these dumbasses in the crowd.  (the exception?  that one tournament had a hole that encouraged a lot of fan noise - that was fun as it was so big, you just didn't hear the individual *******s)

can anyone explain the mentality?  any of you ever at an event and standing near "that guy"  or the whistler, or the one that throws out that same scream on every single shot, putt, drive?

certainly a couple hundred are doing just fine and enjoying the event - it only takes that one guy in the crowd

golf certainly does appeal to the obsessive - but what happened to just one or two clowns with a rainbow wig quietly enjoying the show and applauding when they were impressed?

Bill -

BTW guys, Michael C. Hepp won the balls. He tied David in FL and got the tiebreaker right.

Anybody else notice the Titleist winter gloves Kuchar was wearing yesterday? During the first round, "Titleist" was very clear, white copy on black gloves. In the second round the "Titleist" was blacked out. It take it Bridgestone was not pleased.

    • Greg Norman reveals plan for LIV Golf teams to have their own courses LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman wants teams to follow Premier League clubs in having their own home games. Here you go. Enjoy.
    • Day 2:  I hit a bucket of balls this morning.  Not gonna lie, almost didn’t go since it was my first time going alone and it was a little intimidating.  I mostly hit with my driver (the last bit of balls was with my 7 iron).  The sun was in my face but I think the ones that had good contact with went the furthest yet (maybe 150 yards then a good roll?).  Once I switched to my 7, the first half of my balls were crap.  I’ve always hit my irons before my driver when practicing and done fine - does this make any difference or is it just because I’m so green?
    • It's likely per "category" of clubs, so irons would be one category, wedges would be a category, driver a category, fairway woods/hybrid a category, etc. They aren't going to charge you $50 per iron for a fitting. Almost all iron fittings are done with like a 6 or 7 iron, fitters don't carry full sets of every iron. So yes, if you use a 7 iron for the fitting and let's say you get fit into the P790 with a certain shaft, 1 degree flat and .5" longer than normal you would just order the full set of P790s with that shaft/lie angle/length combination and you'll be perfectly fine.
    • I think the $50 fitting price tag is per club. The clubs I am most interested in getting fitted for are irons. And I'd rather not spend a bunch on getting fitted for multiple irons. Would I be fairly safe to assume that choosing something like a 6 or 7 iron for fitting would likely relate to other lofts in the same configuration/make/model?
    • A Mevo is 500. Comes with little decals to hit balls inside too.
