Just checked UPS, my new putter is waiting for me at the office of my Apartment complex.

And the first trip to the putting green is........? :-D

Hmmm... I think I do need to make a trip to Walmart tonight. The golf course is right on the way. It would be a shame not to stop by and practice a bit. :whistle:

YAY!!! :dance:

Got to use it tonight in league night. Oh man what an improvement in distance control. It really is scary how a putter that fits you can help so much. It just balanced out the stroke so much. It really was just automatic putting. I love the feel. The Edel grip is perfect, just the right size for me. I was worried I would have to replace the grip, but really close to the one I used for years now.

Big Thanks to the @david_wedzik and @iacas for the Edel Putter fitting and ordering it for me.

Yea, I've tried soft inserts before. Then I found the Metal X Odyssey putter and really liked the nice high pitch clink sound it gave off on a good strike. This one has the same thing. Its not very loud, but it has a good feel to it. Not a huge fan of soft inserts, they just feel kinda dead to me. I really liked the feel of the all metal putter when I was fitted. So might as well go with it. Didn't want to try something I didn't hit.

What I really like is how they beveled the bottom of the putter. There is about a half of an inch depth from the face to the bevel. This half inch area is shinier like the face, then behind it on the sole is a more matte gray finish. Nice contrast, really like the look.

Hehe, the pixelated insert is just kind of a redundancy anyway, but it works well for idiots like me who actually miss the sweet spot sometimes with the putter :doh:

My daughter's putter. It's 29" and should last a few years. She grips a few inches down on it already. 325g head. 50g about 5" down in the shaft. Lines it up well unlike her existing putter.

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
