Steve Jobs: Man in the Machine: birdie. Warts and all. Looking forward to the Sorkin version. Fassy!

Match: birdie. Jean Luc Picard, errr, Prof. X, channeling his bro, Magento but IRL.

The Day the Earth Stood Still 1.0: Par. There were baseball fields in the mall?

The Day the Earth Stood Still 2.0: Par. It wasn't as bad as originalists made it but tried to squeeze in too many actors.

The Longest Day: Eagle.

Watched Admission with Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, Par (Lipped birdie).  Lily Tomlin was hilarious as Tina Fey's mom.

Then watched Date Night with Tina  Fey and Steve Carell,  A birdie, very funny.

Liked both films very much.

I am a fan of horror movies so thought it was a good concept with some science sci fi thrown in there.  I think it is also one of those movies you have to be in the mood for, the first time I saw it I was a little shell shocked afterwards.

Yeah, Avengers was okay.  I am just getting worn out on all the superhero cash it in movies that they are throwing out there.

I too am a fan of horror movies. But I prefer horror movies like the Blair Witch Project, the Ring etc. Both of which are Eagles IMHO.

Those are good.  I remember when Blair Witch Came out and a girlfriend and I went to watch it.  I started laughing at one point and she turned and gave me a look of astonishment, then whispered that this really happened.  She was not yet privvy to the knowledge that it was fake.  She wasn't the brightest one.

Some of my favorite horror movies in no particular order:

The Shinning

IT

The Prince of Darkness (that one made me carp myself when I was a kid)

The Strangers (has some realism too it)

28 Days Later

Night of the Living Dead

NIghtmare on Elm Street

Rosemary's Baby

Hellraiser

Aliens

Texas Chainsaw Masacre

Hills Have Eyes

I have so many horror movies I am sure I am missing many, I love classic movies too, so some of the older ones are not on here but Vincent Price used to do some great one.

I don't want to give away the movie but also Cabin In The Woods, for anyone who has not seen it, it is a must see movie.  That is an Eagle if not an Ace!

That's a good list except for Texas chainsaw massacre. ;-) I guess I have to watch Cabin in the Woods.

Yes, definitely check it out.  May still be on Netflix, also check out a movie called "Ahh, Zombies".  It starts out great, peters off, the concept was brilliant but wish it was made a little stronger.  Still worth a watch.

I finally finished Cabin In The Woods a month ago. It had been unwatched in my list on Netflix for just about a year. I'll give it a par. It lands on all the cliches of standard horror movies, then laughs in their face. Stoner kid would have been perfect if his voice wasn't so rattling. And it had the dad from StepBrothers (Catalina Wine Mixer, baby!), but I have to say I wasn't scared at all during this flick. To me, TBWP is horrible film. I was bored stiff during that one. Drama students and a hand cam. Thank you, but no. I guess it all depends on what you consider horror. Is it shock/scare value or straight up gore? One decent example of this was the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. It was creepy all to hell, and mighty suspenseful at times, and still managed to sicken you with some of the gruesomeness.

Lance Armstrong biopic - Jobs, Armstrong, who's next? Who'd play Tiger Woods in his biopic? Don Cheadle?

Me, Earl and the Dying Girl - par. I was not upset by

Protagonist saying girl doesn't die but she dies. I thought she was going to die regardless. Unreliable narrator trope.

I thought the Wes Anderson-ness of it was too much.

9. April - birdie. War is hell, no matter the scale. You fix that flat in 90 seconds or it's latrine duty!

I thought Grandma was bogey ... they do touch on some polarized topics such gays and abortion. I am sure there are some folks that will have some strong reactions to the movie's story line.

Rewatched Zombieland last night.  Birdie  Wish they would've made a 2nd one.

Love this movie, lots of good laughs along with the gore and zombie killing.  Woody Harrelson was awesome as Tallahassee.

Knuckleball! Par. Saw this awhile ago movie surfing on Netflix. I knew who Tim Wakefield was but no idea who RA Dickey was at the time. If you keep up w/baseball, this is probably a lot of stuff you already know and seen. There's some bits devoted to the actual art of throwing a knuckler, there should have been more of that.

Most of the focus is on Wakefield and Dickey and the retired knuckleballers. So after this gets made, Dickey goes and wins the Cy Young award. How about that. It's not unlike some guy who has been struggling on the web.com for years and has a career season on the PGA tour, like, James Hahn?

I would have preferred a version that cut out the biopic parts and just focused on history and technique in say 30-40 minutes.
