26 seasons, but you can just start from whatever's on Netflix and wiki the references you don't get.

Still not worth it. Doesn't seem like my cup of tea. I don't have a lot of time to watch stuff.

Watched The Big Sick and honestly expected to like it.

Didn't at all. Bogey. Slow pacing, poor production values. A bit too "indie" feeling on that level. Scenes poorly lit, audio not great… Story slow.

Quote

The site's critical consensus reads, "Funny, heartfelt, and intelligent, The Big Sick uses its appealing leads and cross-cultural themes to prove the standard romcom formula still has some fresh angles left to explore."

I must have blinked during the funny parts… or something.

P.S. I know it was an indie flick, but they don't have to feel so indie.

I also watched Miss Sloane and give it a par. Pacing was slow, too, but the intrigue was good and the acting very good.

Watched Day of the Dead: Bloodline yesterday. It's not in my DNA to pass by a new zombie flick, but since it was just released January 5th and already on PPV I knew going in not to expect much. I was not disappointed in the regard. It was pretty awful - bad acting, bad script, bad directing, bad premise. I honestly think my wife got mad at me for watching the whole thing.

Blow up hole, call it a double bogey.

Jumanji - with the Rock - Fun flick with action, not as serious as the original. Birdie, probably an Eagle for what it is.

Meet the Jones' - Another fun comedy with 4 top actors - and who doesn't like to look at Wonder Woman and Isla Fischer.

I watched The Words a few nights ago.

I give it a par. It was pretty predictable.

Watched The Post and All the President's Men back to back. Great double feature.

And didn't score either of them as this topic asks. :-)

Ah! I'd give The Post a par and All the President's Men a birdie. It's uncanny how one segues to the other so well. Kind of like Rogue One into Star Wars.

As a cracker jack scholar of WW2, I decided to check out Dunkirk.

25ft putt for Bogey.

A $100 million movie set in arguably the most rattling time in human history ought not bore a man to death.

Wild guess here, but I suppose you didn’t like the way the movie was produced? :-D

What would you have changed? Asking because I haven’t seen it yet?

For lack of better words, it felt like an IMAX movie; visually pleasing, but otherwise pointless. What I had expected was a more traditional war film centered around the issue of rescuing these men, though not completely limited to that either.

My experience with the movie was just floating around watching people trying to survive a situation that is out of their hands. That should be suspenseful, but it mostly wasn't. There were a couple good scenes here and there, but they were drowned out in it's 2 hour run time.

Unfortunately the people's lives you should be interested in share very little dialogue, and exhibit predictable behavior. This lead me to care about them as much as I do people in Tokyo during a Godzilla movie.

Yeah, that's kind of the trend these days. People seem to want to be entertained with mindless action or sex or both.

I just finished The Cloverfield Paradox.  I quite enjoyed it and will give it a par.  It doesn’t explain a lot, but I still thought it was a decent sci-fi thriller.

The marketing team was clever in making it sort of a chaser for the Super Bowl. Chris O'Dowd was so funny. Just saying Chris O'Dowd in space makes me laugh.

Ah man, the stuff about his arm was hilarious.  I can get why a lot of people hated the movie, as there’s a ton of holes in the plot, but one of the things I liked about the original Cloverfield is they didn’t explain anything.  And this follows that quite well.

    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
