Aloha… double bogey. Only the cuteness of Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams save it from being a BIP off the tee.

My son warned me about this one, so we passed.

I just read that Leonardo DiCaprio turned down the roll as Anikan back when Episode 2 came out. Just thinking about how that would have been compared to Christensen.

Leo went on to do The Beach, The Man in the Iron Mask, also Gangs of New York which was filmed during the time Attack of the Clones was.

Gangs of New York gets a birdie ;)

I saw Concussion this afternoon with my wife and was very impressed! Definitely a solid birdie. Good acting by Smith and Baldwin too. I went in to the movie thinking that it was just going to be a docudrama with a flat plot... but I was definitely wrong. It is interesting to see the details that were discussed and the definitely the end (won't spoil it). But it definitely makes you question the idea of how football is played. I have had the opinion that the NFL should have a weight limit (like I remember back in school). Of course, my opinion means nothing and would not be very popular (like the doctor's findings through research).

Fat men move slower, though. 1/2mv2 is relevant - the "v" is squared while the "m" is simply linear.

I saw "The Big Short" with the wife today.

The acting was fine. Nothing earth shattering, but good, solid.

The cheesy asides where celebrities explained things could have been a lot better. More informative, less disruptive… heck, they could have illustrated things better, or something. I am a reasonably smart guy and I understood a lot, but I had to pay attention to get what I got, and it wasn't all of it.

I give the movie a par. It could have been better a few ways: either go more full-on-documentary, more pseudo-documentary where every character can narrate to the camera and they're obviously just actors play-acting the roles of the people they represent, or go full non-documentary, actual movie like, I don't know… any other "based on true events" type story that's been told in the cinema.

There were no highs or lows. Just a par the whole way. Meh.

I saw it today. I enjoyed it. I'm kinda glad they explained what was what. I thought the weakest actor was Ryan Grosling.

I like Steve Carell in the movie.

i would give it a solid par. Tee to green and an easy two putt.

Ted 2. Bogey. Wasn't even as (completely sophomoric and stupid) funny as the first one. I wanted some brainless stupid horrible humor and barely even got any of that.

Watching "Fair Game" now.

Great point about the mass and velocity formulae. And I/m sure the NFL wouldn't go for a change to the NFFL (National Flag Football League). Hmmm. Well, staying on topic... The movie exemplified how change of behavior will not happen ....even in the face of qualified scientific proof. I guess money and power speak louder unfortunately.

A Walk in the Woods -- Double Bogey

Slightly amusing, but not much story - basically, a buddy movie of two 75 year old guys. Not surprisingly, not much action. Story is lacking ... Redford looks old and his face is ruddy. Nolte looks like his DWI shot, although he is amusing. But not worth the time.

That's too bad. The book was excellent, but I think they departed from the book.

Saw Creed last week, would give it a birdie.  If you're a Rocky fan you'll enjoy the parallels to Rocky1, but there's enough variance to make Creed it's own movie rather than a Rocky 1 reboot.  Stallone is supposed to be up for an Academy award for his performance, I'm guessing it's as a supporting actor.

Speaking of Awards. I've been trying to think if 2015 has been a pretty good year for movies or not. Is this the year Leo gets his oscar award. The predictions have him, Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs),  Johnny Depp (Black Mass).

I really liked Fassbender in Slow West. Not a popular movie, but one of my favorites of 2015.

Watched Trainwreck last night. We did not expect it to be that good. Birdie. Bill Hader has become quite a good dramatic actor. Amy Shumer was surprisingly good. I thought is was going to be more of a silly comedy, but it is not.

I gave it a par. Totally formulaic, with flat performances by both. At least it wasn't over the top, which I was almost expecting, as that would have made it a bogey.

The best performance was Lebron's.

Marv Albert thought Marv Albert's performance was best.
