For some reason, I've never liked any of Superman movies. Don't know why. May be the stories were all weak - JMO.

I think I'll wait for S v B to come out on DVD

I watched "Fury" last night.

I have always thought that war movies gloss over the brutality and horror of war.   I think "Saving Private Ryan" is one of the best war movies because it shows war in all its horrors.  Of course, having never actually been in a war or in combat, who am I to say.  It seems realistic based on what I have read about the reality of war.

But "Fury" is so brutal, so horrific, that I am starting to wonder if maybe they've overdone it.   Is it possible for a war movie to depict war as more brutal and horrific than it really is?   It wasn't so much the blood and gore, but rather it was the way the men became total animals.   Actually, to call them animals would be an insult to animals.   They became the lowest form of human beings.

One thought I had watching the movie was, how in the world would any of those guys ever be able to go back to civilian life after going through that.

Very good movie, though.

As a comic book fan in my youth, I think this is the golden age of superhero movies.  That being said, I give Bats vs Supes a bogey.

There were some things that were pretty good, some things that were very lame, like Jesse Eisenberg as  Luthor.

I thought the idea was good, but manoman, that was very poorly executed.

Sisters with Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey - double bogey. Couldn't make it through the first 30 minutes. I expected more from these two.

Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 - Par. Good to see the conclusion after reading the books, but could have been better.

So many endings. Should not have split it in two.

The Hours - eagle. One of my favorite movies, despite it being a 2 hour ad for anti-depressants. Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep, Ed Harris, CJ from The West Wing, Claire Danes, Nicole Kidman, Stannis from Game of Thrones, Margo Martindale, Toni Collette, Jeff Daniels. Amazing cast.

Looking forward to watching this in April, it'll be on US Netflix. “Er Ist Wieder Da,” or “Look Who’s Back,” is based on a book. 1945 Hitler wakes up in Germany in 2011 and deals with modern society while everyone thinks he's an actor just doing a really good job of staying in character.

Er Ist Wieder Da - Birdie. Very funny, yes, squirm in your seat funny (HEIL HITLER! screams the lady in jest), and some interesting commentary about modern life and politics as well.

So you had Seven Samurai, Yul Brynner in The Magnificent Seven and now this. Love westerns ("Any man don't wanna get killed better clear on out the back."), this looks like fun. Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke.

That highway scene (near the border), the dinner, the ending. Very stressful.

The Jungle Book - birdie. The trailer made it look really awful. Christopher Walken's number was excellent.

The Finest Hours - par. Also thought the trailer was awful. This is a story told many times before and the variations weren't enough to make it anything special. It's competently made and acted, but was so bland.

Zootopia - Eagle. This is Pixar level good. Loved the themes of self-actualization, tolerance, perseverance, stereotyping. The allusions to The Godfather, Chinatown and LA Confidential are something the adult audience will love. The sloths were hilarious.

Jodie Foster interview talking about her new movie Money Monster in which she directs. She's 53, looking a little worn, but still very attractive. Love her voice/accent.
