Do the numbers on the club effect the bounce and how irons perform?

True dat.

I'm thinking this guy:

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Like the "plain" Edel irons ...

@mvmac How are Jesse's clubs?

I like his fairways - wish he made a 21.

The hybrids - probably needs to reduce the "look" of offset.

The driver … talk with me about it… says he fixed the sound and put in a new Ti material.

Just hit a few shots with each club.  Driver is great looking but a little loud.  The cup face is pretty interesting technology.  Fairway woods are awesome, some of the best in the game.  Hybrids are stupid easy to hit.

@mvmac Thanks. Jessie's fairways and hybrids were great last year, now with the cup face, they are even better The driver will require some hot melt, as usual, as with every driver on the market. Maybe a little more in his driver. By the way, the diet is working - you dropped pounds and look great

Everything I've read in the running mags says the minimalist shoe thing is on the way out. I went back to custom insoles and neutral shoes in 2012 after tearing my feet up and limping for months.

I'll disagree. I'll probably also never give up low heel drop less structured shoes. So much better for my feet than the "casts" like normal shoes.

I agree 100%. I remember putting on my first pair of True Linkswear and i almost stumbled on my first step. You'd be shocked at how your body can really tell the difference when you have zero heel drop.

I doubt they are on the way out. I see more minimalist shoes out there now then ever. I think most people just don't take it easy. They are not use to having their feet do work. When you get so much support your feet become weak and pathetic. Feet are like any other body part, put too much stress too soon and injuries can happen.

What's with the Titleist guys in uniforms?

And

Why don't they smile?

And

None of them seem like they're having a good time ...

And that goes to our local Titleist rep ...  a curmudgeon.

So Vokey copies Mizuno in terms of groove depth and width ... w 56 and above being the spin monsters.. and below being the more predictable spin.

And that makes it a SM5?

The groove area also seem narrow ... I guess after you've played Edel wedges, the others seem smallish.

Its true brands like vibram 5 fingers sales in my territory have gone from 3.5 million 2 years ago down to under 400 k and still dropping, what is on fire for runners is back to conventional running shoes like brooks, and asics some with zero or low drop, but also Hoka one one, with huge amount of midsole. Hoke one one cold be labeled as HOT Mention BAREFOOT to a buyer and you are opening up a wound and losing a sale.

Yep I was just at Road Runner Sports last weekend getting fit for some ASICS trainers. Yes I do the shoe fitting thing, been seeing the same person there for years. She said hardcore runners are trending back to traditional looking shoes with a meld of technology combining barefoot concepts, less heel to toe differential etc. with putting cushion under your feet again. The word I'm seeing tossed around in the running mags is maximal. I don't mind a less structured shoe for walking, golf things like that. But for running no way and I've always lifted weights barefoot.

I agree that the barefoot branding has taken a hit. The runner's world has really slammed barefoot running. I think that is why a lot of them are getting away from that labeling and more towards Minimalist and Zero Drop. Say its a shoe, but just brand it more by the specific about it, rather than trying to create a whole new genre.

    • Day 133 (25 Apr 24) - Worked with the Divot Board today added a piece of cardboad behind the ball to help reinforce ball first contact. Contact improved through the round.   Added grandson's football goal posts about 10yds out to add a good start line visual Good session today.
    • Day 120: 4/25/24 Full Speed Spectrum training session. Low energy today and my speed was lower than normal. Will see what I can do on Saturday.
    • Day 541, April 25, 2024 Ten minutes after lessons. Still not caught up, but should be by tomorrow evening.
    • Playing irons only may lead to some short-term gains, but you'll want to at least practice with the driver if you ultimately have some decently good goals.
    • He plays from 68.3 / 124.  A combo tee setup of normal mens and seniors.   I play from 69.7/127.   He left after taking a triple on 14 and then leaving.  Which plays to what I think his plan is,   He doesn’t stroke on 14 but would have to take bogey for non completed holes on the way in.   Maybe that’s giving him too much credit, but he found a way to add 4 shots to his score over three holes so….     I looked up his last 20 rounds in GHIN and he has a lot of rounds at easier courses (rating and slope) that are higher than his normal rounds at home.   Since I mostly have his front nine score during the match (36) to go on, he has three nine hole scores at our course posted that are 41-43. I wrote the whole thing up to the head of our golf association who runs all the tournaments.  Our pro is not involved officially in the tournaments because the golf associations are separate from the club.   He’s pretty well known for this, however I was pretty shocked at how well he played carrying a 15.   I think eventually they will do something, a lot of people have complained.  The golf association threw someone out a couple of years ago and it was a three month situation where the guy retaliated.  They probably are hesitant to go thru anything like that again.  That is a rather crazy story I might post about later.
