I like the Romeo Y Julieta HAVOC Fat Churchill Habano.    I have to admit though, I also like Dutch Masters Corona Deluxe.  As a kid growing up, that is what my Great-Grandfather smoked.   Maybe it's the nostalgia of them but I honestly like them, even though they are cheap..

I don't drink or smoke, but I don't mind the smell of cigar smoke. I play with a guy from time to time who does. He is always trying to get me to start. I tell him that maybe when I am 70 I will. :)

Good for you! I'm starting to lean that way as well lately too. I do drink occasionally, but get basically nothing out of it, so I'd just as soon stick to iced tea or diet soda. ;) Anyway, on topic ... Somehow I've made it to 40 years old and have never once smoked a cigar. I don't even know how! However, like Cipher, I do like the smell of them so I don't particularly mind at all when others smoke them near me. :)

Still a little new here.  Hope there's no issue reviving a thread that has been dormant for a few months.

I enjoy a cigar on the golf course.  I'm not an every day smoker and wouldn't smoke cigarettes if you paid me to.  Just don't like the taste or smell.

My go to cigars are:

Drew Estate Undercrown

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature

Natrual by Drew Estate

I smoke 2-3 cigars per week with 1-2 of them coming on the golf course and the other coming on the balcony of my apartment with a glass of Maker's Mark on the rocks.

I'm no cigar expert, but I certainly enjoy a good cigar when golfing (or any time, really). The last one I smoked was a CAO LX2 and it was quite tasty. They are great for keeping gnats away, too!

Padron 1964 anniversary

I had a Padron '64 maduro on my birthday a few days ago.

It was the first I'd had and it was great.

Nice, That's by far my favorite cigar especially in the torpedo.  When golfing  I go for a nice Padron 3000 or 6000 relatively cheap stick at 6-7 bucks.

My favorite, Romeo y Julieta, they are not too strong.

If you prefer good tasting/smelling cigars that aren't too strong... Def check out the H. Upmann Original

Agreed...., H. Upmann makes some very good sticks...., a bit on the pricey side but just like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway! Every time!!

Some so-and-so sold me a fake one of those a few years back. Tasted like a 5-year-old Dutch Master. I've been very distrustful ever since.

I don't smoke cigars a lot, but when I do its usually a Padron 3000 (sometimes 2000).

Punch. Although it is extremely rare I would puff on one. I actually hate smoking all the way around. But if someone offers a Punch in a swanky club house with a nice single malt scotch... I give in.. Wedding.. New baby.. Bachelor party maybe...But again I rarely drink or almost never ever smoke.

I don't care for the large cigars because they take too long to smoke. I think I could enjoy a few Havana Ovals during a round, though.

    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.

    • Thanks man, sometimes it’s hard to improve bc when I’m not feeling comfortable I don’t like practicing bc I get frustrated. Any advice?
