I usually eat trail mix and beef jerky. I don't like to eat a banana because I usually don't finish it before I have to take another shot and they're awkward to put down between bites. If I've skipped a meal, I'll eat a protein bar, too.

I notice a lot of the pros eat bananas on the course.  I usually take a protein bar on the course and try to stay hydrated,  seems to work for me. Food high in sugar will give you a boost but it doesn't seem to last long. Fruits are good, apples, oranges, etc. for maintaining some energy levels.

Most of the time nothing. Occasionally I put a pack of peanut butter crackers in my bag, and less occasionally I actually remember they are there and remember to eat them.

When I used to play from daylight to dark on the weekends (which I never do anymore) I sometimes put a sandwich and some drinks in my cooler on my cart (if I thought about it before I left my house). Most of the time my intentions were to only play a round or two. Then another friend or two would show up and I would play another round or two with them. Then another friend or two would show up and we would play more. Before I knew it my "morning round" had turned into all day and we are playing the last few holes with the lights on our golf cart.

Those were fun days. Sometimes in the middle of all of that we would actually hit a stretch where we played some good golf. ;-)

To me, the "Uncrustables" by Smucker's are the ultimate golf snack. I pull one out of the freezer that morning when I leave and throw it in one of the pockets on my bag. By the time I'm ready to eat it during my round, it has thawed and is delicious without the mess of a homemade PB&J.; Perfect size snack to fill that void without making you feel like you've just eaten.

Well here's a scotch egg for those who have never had the pleasure! It's a whole boiled egg, wrapped in seasoned sausage meat, covered in breadcrumbs! Quite delicious! And here's a traditional English pork pie!

Scotch eggs aren't made with Scotch? :-( They still look good though.

They really are Good! It's pretty much all I eat while playing, they fit in the palm of ya hand so they not over filling, yet still fill a hole! but i do fancy a change! I buy them freshly made the day before I play, and I buy them for the rest of the 3/4some too, then I pull out a flask of coffee laced with disaronno to wash em down! I figure 4 hours carrying my clubs warrants a little snack break!

    • So, last night was the first night of golf league. First tee I stuck in the ground this year. First time hitting a ball off the grass. Left my putter on my indoor putting mat in the office so I was able to borrow one of my pal's spare putters. I putted poorly, but not the putters fault. Took me forever to realize the greens were very very slow. We've had tons of rain and the greens were downright furry. I also went from my car to the clubhouse to the first tee. No warm up.  It took me a bit to get it going. But finished solid. I think I had four penalty strokes in the first 5 holes.
