Adam Scott going absolutley nuts. 6 under after 7.

This bodes well for my fantasy league. Maybe I'll actually do something other than crapping the bed.

Wow...now I see what everyone is talking about regarding Kevin Na's slow play. He even takes forever to replace his ball on the green. As he was replacing the ball in front of his marker, he literally looked up at the hole the back down at the ball 7 times! 3 foot putt! Unreal. Maybe he has OCD or something.

I think I would snap if I played with someone that slow. Or just leave him behind.

Don't really blame you ... and I don't think many others would either.  But it's funny because I think that is a good portion of the reason why Rory Sabattini is so disliked, for doing exactly that to, I think, Ben Crane.

Wow, Scott tearing it up. This is a good sign for him with Augusta 3 weeks away. Not to mention with Tiger likely out a lot this year, the #1 world ranking is now in play.

That is awesome. I'd love to go to a pro event. Not a lot of opportunities in Canada, they do play Royal Montreal once in a great while.

This is your year. :)

Agreed. I think Rory may have gone about it the wrong way too.

I think I would inform the other player, let him know I am going to move on to the next hole, shake his hand and be done with it, rather than storm off.

So much for all the "experts" saying Bayhill was playing tough -----birdie fest out there....can't believe I listen to all the hype from the talking heads.

BTW, course record at Bayhill is Andy Bean, Norman.....62.

Bubba Watson will be shooting in the 80s today....took a tin-cup eleven on #6.

Would loved to have seen his reaction. No doubt his caddies fault, or the crowds, or something other than himself

i would have no problem with seeing this happen on tour. i think this singlehandedly, besides assessing penalty strokes, would be monumental to helping with the slow play problem. leave the slow player in the dust after a polite "see ya"...

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
