Got ear wax removed. Click off club sounds totally different

How long was the wax in your ears? I bet everything else sounds different too!

I absolutely have had this happen. You'd think it wouldn't make a difference but it does. I love to hear the ball off the club and it affects my confidence when it sounds strange. I went to the doctor a few years back when it really got bad and now I periodically clean them out myself. I don't like to wear anything over my ears in the winter because I can't hear the ball off the club as well. I know that's a little strange but it's a little  quirk that I have.

What kind of doctor do you go for something like that? Primary care? Dermatologist?

ENT specialist. He uses some kind of hook thingy or a vacuum.

I have had it done a number of times and yeah the sound is way different. Chances are if you sleep on your side, especially mainly one side you will need to have it done every now and then.

There's a difference between what you can (and, more importantly, should) do with a q-tip and what a professional can do.

Yes you can, as a matter of fact my doctor when I did go recommended it. The drug store has ear wax removal kits. You get a small bottle of solution and a rubber bulb syringe to flush the ear with. It works quite well, you just follow the instructions. It's less expensive than the doctor and works just as well.

The doctor said never put a q-tip in your ear canal. It just pushes the wax back against the ear drum.

I often use one of those bulbs with warm water and squirt it around in my ears. That softens and loosens any wax, which then just falls out into the sink. Every two weeks or so, sometimes longer.

The first time I did it I could hear things I swear I'd never heard before, like the crunching of the carpet beneath my feet. It was weird. :)
