Has anyone tried this shirt?  If so, does it really work?

I saw the advertisement, and I was wondering if anyone has actually tried this shirt?  At $69.99 per shirt, I don't want to find out the hard way that this is just a gimmick.

I would appreciate any feedback from actual users.

I'll be watching for it too.  Did you get a hat too?  If so, lets hear if that does anything for you.

It's been BRUTALLY hot down here this year.  I'm ready to try anything.  Can't wait for November!

I would love to know whether they actually work.

If it does, I would like to order a few myself.

I'll be checking regularly for your review.

Is it some kind of improvement to the "Dri-fit" type of shirts that have been around awhile? I know that those don't work very well if they aren't tucked in. they seem to need to be touching the skin to work effectively. Untucked and flapping around doesn't work.

It is impregnated with minerals to produce a cooling affect.  We'll see if it works.

IceSkin™ is engineered through a multi-layered, three-dimensional, knitting process. By combining a high percentage of natural jade mineral with our CoolSkin® microfibre technology, the MST process transforms fibres, finer than a human hair into filaments with unique performance capabilities.

I just got in from hitting balls and it is approaching 100 degrees.  The shirt kept me much cooler than other golf shirts I own.  Sadly, it took almost four weeks to get my shirt from the day I ordered it.

After 18 days, I contacted the company at their 800 number and was told they would look into the situation and get back with me.  A few days later I got an email saying there had been a delay in shipping, but it had "shipped last week."  I requested and received a tracking number.  From that I learned that it had not  "shipped last week."  It did not ship until AFTER I contacted them.  I don't know what the real story is, but I wonder if I would have the shirt today had I not contacted them.

I haven't tried the hat.  It's white and I can see it getting dirty/ugly fast.  I tried the cooling towel at home and it does get cool.  IceSkin is on to something with this cooling technology.  Of course, the cost is greater than what I have paid for any other golf shirt.  Still, I may buy another; I'm waiting for them to offer more colors.

I am 5'10" and weigh 210.  Usually, I wear a Large or XL, depending upon the type of shirt and the manufacturer.  I ordered an XL and it fits okay, though it is not as roomy as my other golf shirts.  On me, a Large size shirt from IceSkin would be "skin tight."  Keep this in mind if you decide to order.

I've got 5 or 6 dri fit shirts and I like them but it's also not particularly muggy in Colorado or Idaho.  I leave them untucked all the time and haven't noticed anything bad about it.

I would try one of these ice shirts maybe but $70 for 1 shirt is just nonsense imo. :-P

Thanks for the update.  Based on your review of its performance, I think I will give it a try.  I will make sure not to expect a quick delivery, though.

Welcome to TST, and thanks a lot for giving us that feedback.  At first I was a little worried since this was your first post and it involved a product but obviously you are a real person and not a shill (yeah sometimes we get those).  Anyway it is great that you shared our experience and I know it was appreciated.  I hope you'll stick around and participate in some of the other threads.  Lots of good folks here and tons of free instructional material and feedback.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I've ordered mine almost two weeks ago, and I still haven't received anything yet.

@Iceman123 Can't you guys do something about shipping the order out as soon as possible?

I like the website design. I would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts once they use the shirt.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
