Do you have anything connected to the eero outside of your home? If so how is the access? I have a workshop I'm struggling to get WiFi to and looking for first hand experience.

How far is the distance between the workshop and your house?

The optimal solution is to run conduit underground and an ethernet run from your house out to the shop then have a router out there on a completely separate WiFi network.

There are some other options as well especially if you have a clear line of site from house to shop, you can get devices that send a super strong WiFi signal from point to point, like some of these below

Not sure what you mean by "outside of your home." No, everything is inside my home, though my garage door openers are on WiFi, too, and I can get WiFi out to my street as I drive away from my house, too. For a hundred yards or so.

I meant in a separate building. Just curious if you had Eero access in another building and if so what the speed was like.

If you mean you are trying to get wifi to a separate building, some sort of mesh network like Eero, google wifi may work, but I tried that for my free standing garage/workshop and it was slow. I ended up getting a powerline adapter and a separate cheap wifi router for the outbuilding.

I do have a power line adapter and the speed is just OK.

It's about 25' feet or so between the buildings. I do have a clear line of site and a power line adapter with OK service. I don't get online a lot when I'm out there and when I do the slower speeds are annoying. Running an Ethernet cable may be a winter project though.

Holy hell.

Why so slow? For $20/month they have 50 Mbps down and up. Are you somehow still on DSL? Slow DSL?

That was good back in 1999 right?

I don’t know about @Zippo but no carriers offer fiber in my area. I have 160mbps which works well enough for my gaming needs. My next tech upgrade is to get the new xbox series x.

Very good.  Problem is intermittent interruption of service.

How intermittent are the interruptions for you? Does your dishy have a full, clear view of the sky?

Mine is Spectrum (Time Warner).  They have outages about once every 6-8 weeks for some reason.

I've had fast internet for quite a while now, and I fondly remember my roommates and I chipping in to get DSL in the late 90s when that first became a thing.  This is century link's gigibit/fiber/whatever.

I stumbled across this article last night-- 1 million gigabit internet speed, and apparently it uses the same fiber lines we're using now.  I had to laugh when it said 10 million TV shows at 8K resolution with zero lag...

The world is about to get a whole lot faster — 100,000 times faster to be exact, thanks to researchers in Japan who have set a new record for data...

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
