I like the swing out to right field tip. That's a swing thought I often use.

It's good in a jam, but can lead to long term faults. The best tip I got was $20.

Agree. It's a good tip to help get someone swinging on a decent path but it can get you a little hooky if overdone. My misses tend to be either big pushes or hooks. I used to be a chronic slicer.

Yours in earnest, Jason.
I think you missed the joke.
Actually, I think he was confusing the joke ($20) with the real tip that Ernest was referring to ... which was the "swing out to right field" tip.

True, but it does give a softer feel.

I've seen Tiger on the practice range using a rolled up towel stretched across his chest held under each armpit. He was hitting iron shots and towel stayed in place. Not sure what you accomplish by this.

Yes, but at the expense of about a 90% loss in distance. :-D

That is more of a drill than a tip for pressure points 4 and 5, to try and keep the arms from moving apart...I believe.

True, but it does give a softer feel.

Cleaner contact is not always better, especially when you're playing an unknown course for the first time.  I say, in the interest of safety for you and the course, put the headcover ON before the strokes.

Only after you are comfortable with the course to the point that you don't want to play any other courses, and are confident nobody else is playing your course, AND don't mind the risk that a mini golf course might be built next door (that you'd have to manage) would I recommend taking the headcover off.

I literally love that pillowy feel at contact

Just developing a feel on how he wants his arms to move in the swing.

    • Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.
    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

    • So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands
