What golf related Christmas gifts are you asking for this year?

For me, probably just get a couple Matte Grey shirts.

Hoping for a 50* wedge, would like a Edel, but would settle for a Vokey, with 12*'s of bounce. Could use some new golf shoes too..I'm a simple man.. :-P

Not sure what I will buy myself,, really don't need anything and don't have anyone to exchange gifts with. As a family we use the money we would have spent on gifts and donate it to a local charity. It's a good thing to do but it came about from growing tired of trading gift cards.

I could use some new golf shirts and slacks but did not ask for anything.  I have a very personalized set of clubs and do not have a need in that category.

The best gift for me would be a much less severe winter than last year with an early Spring - not sure if Santa can deliver that.

Asked my dad for a 54* Cleveland Wedge with 8 or 6* of bounce. I bought a 54.12 degree RTX Black Pearl with a GS gift cert from last xmas before I understood what bounce was. After realizing I usually play in firm conditions (New York) and have a shallow swing, less bounce is crucial.

Driver: Callaway Mavrik 10*

Woods: Callaway Epic Flash 15*, 18*

Hybrid: Callaway Mavrik 20*

Irons: Callaway Rogue X 5i-GW

Wedges: Vokey SM8 54*S and 58*K

Putter: Ping Prime Tyne 4

I don't want to really get off topic, but,  you want the bounce....

Now, back to topic; I don't really have anything on my Christmas wish list golf related other than a shirt or two or maybe a gift card to pick up odds and ends later.

I don't thinking word it quite like that. I'd say perhaps that in your case bounce is less crucial. Meaning that having the bounce isn't going to hurt you when you don't need it .. But it will be nice to have when you do.

I don't really have anything specific, but I always hope for new golf balls. I got my wife a fleece jacket from Oakmont Country Club (2016 U.S. Open) and a new golf bag from RockBottom Golf.

A few years ago I asked my wife to stop getting me a big Christmas present and make a donation to Wounded Warriors instead. I am so appreciative of the sacrifices these kids made for our country, that I feel that this is more important than getting a new toy or some item of clothing.

Drivers: Bag 1 - TM R11 (10.5°); Bag 2 - Ping G5 (9°),
Fairway woods: #1 - TM RBZ Tour (14.5°) & TM System 2 Raylor (17°); #2 - TM Burner (15°) & TM V-Steel (18°)
Hybrid: #1 - TM Rocketballz (19°); #2 - Ping G5 (19°)
Irons: #1 - Ping i3+; #2 - Hogan Edge  (both 4-pw, +1" shaft)
Wedges: #1 - Ping i3+ U wedge (52°) & Ping Eye 2+ BeCu (60°); #2 - Ping ISI Sand BeCu (52°) & Cleveland CG11 lob (60°)
Putters: Ping B60i & Anser 2, Odyssey White Steel 2-Ball & White Hot XG #9, Lamkim Jumbp grips
Golf Balls: Titleist Pro V1, Bridgestone B330, Callaway SR1, Slazenger Grips: Lamkin Crossline
Golf Shoes: Footjoy & Adidas; Golf Glove: Footjoy StaSof®; Golf Bag: Ping Hoofer
I love this game! :-D

For my current game, the bounce DOES hurt. My 50 degree and 58 degree wedge are great but I skull the shit out of my 54 from the fairway. I'm able to use my 58.8 from bunkers without a problem. I haven't gotten officially fitted for wedges but everything I read suggests that I need less bounce. Maybe I'll hold onto the 54.12 in case my swing develops and I find myself needing it. RN 8 degrees is the max I want

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
