I always take my driver and putter head covers off and leave them in the car, (It doesn't bring me luck, I just can't be arsed putting them back on after every hit)

I undo and redo the top flap of my glove 10 times. Tap the clubhead to my right heel twice and give a sign to God for good luck.

Or go #2 in their pants when they are playing golf like you did. Superstitions are dumb.

I'm a superstitious everything when it comes to competitive endeavors and have been for a long time, although I only need one ritual per activity.

For golf, I only play natural wood-colored tees and I start every round with exactly five of them in my right pocket.

Interesting..............from article:

"To say athletes are a little superstitious would be a severe understatement. Athletes are notoriously interested in “things they don’t understand.” They range from the tame to the utterly insane. They involve eating particular foods and writing words in the dirt, wearing articles of clothing more than once and using the same bathroom stall. Golfers are no different."

That network went out of business.  Maybe it was because they were superstitious.

I believe superstitions help to quell, at least from a mental aspect, some of the inconsistencies of a very difficult sport where finding consistency is paramount to success. It may help to settle nerves for some or simply help others to find peace. The starter at our club is a super nice older gentleman. He used to play with his wife every Friday morning until she passed away. To this day he says a prayer for her before he tees off and carries her ball marker in his pocket. He finds comfort in doing so.

Golf is individual.

It has to be a broken tee on par 3s.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I never really thought about it, but about as close as I come to a superstition is on those few occasions when I birdie the first hole, I know that I am going to have one of my worst scores of the season - more like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

That is mine as well.  Although I have never had an ace in 25 years of golf.  HHMMMMMMMM.  Time for a rethink?

No.  Just no # 2 balls.  Been doing it since my days of playing Wilson Kro-Flites.

I am showing my age.

I like the other numbers.
