After a round, the player verifies and signs his scorecard. What happens to it after that? Framing Spieth's four cards from the masters would make an incredible item for a charity auction... Or, of course, for Spieth himself.

Interesting question. I assume that they are retained by the tournament committee. After all, they are the official documentation of the individual player's score.

Thanks for the links!

Scoring officials at TOUR co-sponsored events keep the scorecards until the end of the tournament. Those scorecards are then shipped to TOUR headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and stored for safekeeping for an undetermined length of time. The TOUR started taking those security measures in the early 2000s.

Not the most interesting answer possible, but it makes sense.

That''s it man, security.  Could you imagine if 17 Honus Wagner baseball cards  suddenly appeared on eBay?

Security measures?? Would love to hear someone try and explain that.

We have few framed cards from Challenge Tour on our club house wall, one from Peter Uihlein for example. So perhaps on ET (or CT) they are not that security minded.

Still don't really understand why they have to even fill out a scorecard.  The entire world knows their score.  Save a tree and go paperless.  ;)

To always give them the opportunity to sign the wrong score and get disqualified? What an outdated concept.

Mine spontaneously combust after the round completes.

Agree it's an outdated practice but each score card starts out with the potential to make history and be of value.  My guess is tournament winners and low round scorecards are kept for historical records and Hall of Fame display while the rest get scanned and recycled.

I keep all my scorecards that I get par or better.  I don't think CBS would keep my score for me.  ;)

I do the same. Unfortunately between my fingers and toes, I can count how many scorecards I have kept.

    • A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
