We've all been following the coverage and without a doubt, this major at Chambers Bay will be one we won't forget. All experts have their pick for who will the 2015 U.S. Open this weekend. You may think Rory McIlroy is overrated, but there is a reason he is the world's no. 1 golfer... BECAUSE HE CAN HIT A GOLF BALL OUT OF COLESLAW.

No seriously this is unbelievable. ESPN's Sports Science set up the ultimate one-of-a-kind challenge course to test Rory's skills. And let me tell you he passes with flying colors.

How do you think other players would do on this challenge?

Here's what it looks like to hit a ball out of coleslaw... looks messy :bugout:

Here's the video, it's actually amazing as Rory does pretty much everything they ask on the first try.

Now that is a gnarly lie.

As a teachable moment here. The only way Rory gets the ball out of something I would put something like wet compacted sand. First, he has proper technique and engages the bounce. If he digs that leading edge steeply he's screwed. Second, he hits slightly before the ball, maybe half an inch at most.

To many people hit down too much in bunkers and take too much sand. Keep the strike shallow.

I wonder what the R&A;s ruling is on a ball coming to rest in  mayonese based food? :-P

3.5x US Open green speed.

This week USGA wants the greens to run at a 12 STIMP in the morning. I think they can run anywhere from a 12-14 during the US Open.

I would say glass would be 45-50 STIMP. :-D

I think greens rarely get to 14. They say it, but actually measured… no.

I've heard these greens will be 10-12, ideally 11-12.

That little smother hook shot was not too hard, I had that shot in the bag for most of last year.  ;-)  The slaw shot was probably pretty easy.  The put...not so much.
