Wow, just wow. You guys pick a hypothetical win to form a comparison boost up your champ who went down in flames, Tiger must be in big trouble. Can't talk about his game today, gotta bring up wins from 7 years ago, and compare them to wins, that didn't even happen.....

It is a discussion forum.-This is a discussion. No need to be a dick about it.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

Please chill.  If you don't have anything to add, don't knock the OP for starting a discussion.

I battle vertigo because of something called Meniere's disease. It's dreadful. It takes a lot of focus and concentration just to walk on a flat surface let alone the grueling hills of a golf course. I had constant vertigo for 2 weeks when I first came down with it. The best way I can describe it, it's like doing a shot of hard liquor every 10-15 minutes. I was only awake for 4-6 hours per day. It just wears you out. Most people feel extreme nausea too and can hardly hold food down. I was absolutely astounded that he was able to continue.

I'm not voting because I think that there is no comparison. Each one took the heart of a warrior to battle through. Which is better... who knows.

There is no reason to put tiger on a pedestal as it relates to this tournament. Thats all

Nobody is doing that-He played poorly this year but his 2008 year is still a thing to discuss regardless of your irrational hate of Tiger Woods.

The thread is discussing gutsy performances in the US Open.  Tiger's 2008 performance is relevant to the discussion.

How about Billy Horschel's 67 with a huge stick up his ass?

The stick helps keep his head centered.

He should be DQ'd for "building a stance" then.

But is it a movable obstruction?

Well, the question is long since moot, but Tiger, without a doubt.

18 holes with the leg, vs really only finishing the tale end of one hole with vertigo.  The following day he didn't have any real vertigo (that I heard about), but was just playing with it in the back of his mind. Still tough, but not in the same league as the win in '08...

...which really hurt cuz I really like Rocco!

In David's bag....

Hybrids: Titleist 910H 19* and 21* Diamana Kai'li
Irons: Titleist 695cb 5-Pw

Wedges: Scratch 51-11 TNC grind, Vokey SM-5's;  56-14 F grind and 60-11 K grind
Putter: Scotty Cameron Kombi S
Ball: ProV1

How do you know what the leg was like?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Actually playing with a dizzy head and not even being able to stand up is a much bigger accomplishment than a slightly hurt leg. I would give the vote to Day based on that. I'd much rather play with a sore leg than totally dizzy and not able to stand on my feet.....Day all the way

Also, the irrational love for tiger on here is as ridiculous as any hate...."so clearly Tiger :-) "

It looks like something a 14 year old girl talking about Justin Bieber would write.

That is your opinion-You should not say it like it is a fact because it is not. Day did not even win, so he can not win the poll. Slightly hurt? Okay buddy. Well this poll was created under the scenario that Day won....lmfao

If Day cannot possibly win the poll, then why are you taking pride in the fact that Tiger won the poll....?!?

lmfao

You seem like a very pleasant fellow. Just pointing out that your behavior is 'interesting.' Take your Tiger hate elsewhere. YOu voted for Day I will assume-Good for you. You do not need to berate or belittle other people who have a different opinion and call them names.

Jason Day is not feeling the effects of his vertigo all the time either.

It is not like he is walking around with the help of a walker because he can not even balance all the time. He is fine 99% of the time.

Do you know Jason? I find it had to imagine you know exactly how he feels without speaking to him directly....

    • Back in my Army days a "gooch" was a particular part of the anatomy. Example, say Okeechobee is the b-hole of Florida, then Belle Glade would be the gooch. Seems he wears his name well.
    • I can't say that I remember a lot of individual putts, but I do have one specific memory.  The first time I played the Old Course, I had hit a pretty good drive on the 6th hole.  I had about 60 yards left, and due to the swale in front of the green, there was no chance of flying a wedge on or near the green and having it stop on the green.  My caddie recommended either a running 7-iron chip or a putt, and I took the putter and a pretty hard swing.  The ball rolled over humps and through hollows, disappeared into the swale in front of the green, and re-appeared heading right at the hole.  I ended up maybe 12 feet away.  The caddie turned and held out his hand to shake mine, and said "Now THAT was a golf shot!"
    • For the first time since 2021, I made a 3 on the 12th at Stoneleigh.    395 yards, something like 80 feet uphill, I hit a solid drive and a 7-wood to inside a foot.  Even I couldn't miss that one.  I feel like I haven't played a lot of golf this year, but I'm making decent progress.
    • Wordle 1,050 5/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜🟩 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟨🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I felt all were good shots, but bogey it is.  Maybe this hole was a par 5?
