I didn't remember anything wrong, I have all the PM from Brad regarding the root cause of his complaint.

Like I said, even if you remembered correctly, there is a reason why we prefer not to have kids there. If you want to pm me that's fine, but as of now this topic is OT.

Sorry his bitterness spread to everyone else, I don't mind bowing out of any further outings. . .

Nobody's bitterness spread, @Lihu . These events are not about playing with your kids. You have, as I said before, 361 other days of the year to do that. These events - and I just came from one near me - are about getting together with other members of the site. Other adult members (male or female, though I don't know if the first woman has attended yet).

These events are NOT about bringing your kids. Never were.

The fact that you and @hacker101 brought your kids every time basically meant that you were playing at the same time as the TST outing, but you never really participated in them. You were just at the same golf course at about the same time. The two of you never hung out afterward, and almost always played together for the reasons I outlined in my post a year or two ago.

Nobody's wronged you, @Lihu , and to the contrary I think people were too accommodating for too long when you kept insisting on bringing your kid along. My wife, for example, thinks it was wrong of you to keep bringing your kid, and so it's wrong now to insist that you're being wronged.

These outings are for adult members. That's it. They always have been - the fact that you were able to fill out a foursome and play at the same time as some previous outings doesn't change that. You weren't actually really participating in the outings.

Anyway, I agree this is OT, but @Lihu , you're doing it again. You're blaming other people and getting mad at them when they've done little to nothing wrong. Just as you did in your Member Swing thread. If you can't see that, then I don't know how to help you.

Attend the SoCal event or not, but if you do, you'll be attending alone. Which, I'm guessing, means you won't be attending… which is completely fine with everyone . You, Drew, me, Mike, Tristan… everyone.

Out of context much?

I would be happy to let anyone on this site read the dialog between Lihu and myself over PM.  I did not say anything that fits a "bitterness" category.

Was I disappointed that first outing?  Yes.  But those were my reasons, and they were intended to be private.

Anyway - Didn't I say this just two posts up?

I'm not sure how that translates to "Brad hates to golf with kids".

So, with @Lihu deciding not to join us, our current list is as follows:

@mvmac

@Golfingdad

@tristanhilton85

@bmartin461

@jefkve

@Shindig

@No Mulligans

That gives us 7. I talked with Barrett yesterday ( @Bechambo ) and he sounded like he wanted to play. That would give us eight.

I tried calling the course right now, and they are closed until the end of the month as they are over seeding. I'm sure that I can call on the first and get a tee time for everybody, but considering that the course will have been opened for less than 2 weeks at the time of our outing, it may be cart path only.

Should we just wait and see what they say on the 1st, or do you guys want to try another course?

According to GreensKeeper, they will be cart path only on the 11th.

How about Campions Club in Corona?

I've played it before a few times, interesting course and challenging even though it's not long.

Ummm... honestly, I absolutely hate that course. Extremely gimmicky in my opinion.

There are some other courses in that area that I'd consider though (Eagle Glen, Dos Logos, Goose Creek).

I'd say maybe let's wait and see but consider a backup plan? I know I liked Tukwet last time and haven't been back since ... Perhaps we consider their other 18 as a possibility of Oak doesn't work out? It's right across the street I think so it shouldn't affect anybody's plans. Also, @bmartin461 There is no need to explain yourself. Lastly, just a reminder that I'm not 100% yet ... Still haven't got confirmation from the wife that she hasn't already "claimed" that weekend for herself. :P

Eagle Glen, Dos Logos, Goose Creek.

I'd vote for changing it up and going for one of these courses. I liked Goose Creek and haven't played Eagle Glen or Dos Lagos so I would be happy to play one of those.

Also I'll page,

Fair enough, it's been a while since I have played it so maybe I'm remembering it differently.

I'm good with Goose Creek, but I think we have been there already.

I just played really well earlier today on aerated greens, so I'm fine with them, although this would be my first outing with my new Edel. Either way, anything fine with you all is fine with me.

I'm tentative! I think it's possible just have to firm the date and location. It'll be about a 2 hour drive for me but worth it to see Barney in his loudmouth pants!!

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
    • That truly had me laughing. Thanks If anyone is interested Sun Day Red is live. I clicked on the hats, seem they are sold out. Shorts 130 bucks, shirts 120, everything seems to be sold out already, at least from what I clicked on. 130 for shorts, I'll pass.
