Yes, because my fitness and my golf game is really relevant when discussing professional golfers/athletes. But I realize that in this day of Donald Trump, personally attacking someone you disagree with rather than dealing with the issue(s) at hand is considered appropriate.

What are the issue(s) at hand that you are talking about ? Saying that a professional golfer needs to wear a bra ? That would not be considered  kind of personal ?

Full disclosure ... Until yesterday I had never heard of that woman. (Don't want to sound like Alex Trebek here;))

Good final round by Spieth--66. That'll give him good momentum to Wisconsin.

Or it won't.

Louise Suggs was one of the founders of the LPGA and one the greatest women to ever play the game. Won 61 tournaments I believe. She died the other day at age 91.

Pretty solid final round by Jordan. A few bad tee shots here and there and he would have been at the top of the leaderboard this weekend (of course, I realize you could say that about any of them). Considering how he's played this course before (never before under par) I don't think he has anything to be worried about.

Go Jordan. Can't wait to see him and all the others (except Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia) this week at the PGA.

Um....the announcer keeps talking about how Justin Rose is hitting the ball off of the putter's "heel" and how he "lacks compression" when he does that. Compression? :/

Or it won't.

Given his track record, the odds are there that it will. He's finished in the top-10 in his 3 previous tourneys before a major and we saw how those turned out.

There was several times when he missed a putt that they said he hit it off the heel, but it didn't appear to be the case to me. The compression thing was just dumb as hell.

"Momentum" is bullshit with a guy like Spieth. He could have shot 83 today and it wouldn't mean shit. Or he could have shot 63 and it wouldn't mean shit. He's gonna be a favorite no matter what and has a remarkably annoying focus rebounding from bad shots or bad days or bad tournaments.

I've never in my life heard someone talking about compressing the ball into a putter....and he kept saying it!

Wish it would have gotten held up in the trees so we could have had a playoff.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
