I got out of work early today to do a little golfing and also have tomorrow of to do the same.  Somebody T-Boned me on the way home from work so that got me in a dander.  Once again the start of a vacation has me getting kicked in the arse.

I finally made it to the course and hoped to get 18 holes in before it got too dark.  I have been coming oh so close on number 4 in the past which plays anywhere from 132 to 170 yards.  The whites usually are at 150 yards but today they had them all the way to the front of the stepped tee boxes.  It's all downhill to a sloping away green.  I used an 8 iron and sent it into orbit to make it stick.  It looked like it was about 2 feet to the left of the pin as she was heading up and away.  I even said out loud that this one was going to be good.  It took two small hops and then it disappeared.  I let out a little yip but wasn't sure if it was behind the flag.  As I was driving down the hill, I did not see white so I knew it was in.  Some younger guy came over along with two guys in a cart and he shook my hand.  I took that ball out of play and then proceeded to stink it up for about 5 holes.

I also shot my best round ever with a 91.  The last few holes was very hard to see but I was doing all right.  I guy said my ball ran over the hole on another par 3 that is straight up hill.  I was talking to that one too because it looked really good in flight before it was out of sight.  My 8 iron had some mojo tonight!  The last hole was in total darkness.   It is pretty nerve racking driving and hoping and praying that it is kind of straight and in the short grass.  Which I did not do to good today in that department.  Right in the middle of the fairway after making a few passed up and down to find it.  I could not even see the flag from 110 yards out and could just make out the green.  I skulled my 9 iron on a downhill lie way over the green and down the steep greenside bunker.  I just lobbed one up and heard a thump so I new I was on.  Ended up with a double to get the round in because I won't be able to play the course tomorrow for some shindig going on.  This is a damn crazy game and it ain't bad in the dark.

Oh what a feeling after the crap that was delivered earlier in the day.

Wow, congrats on the Hole in One!

What a roller coaster day it has been for you.   I don't mind getting T-boned, less injury, if I can get a hole in one afterward.

Congratulations! I have a great fear that some day I'll get that elusive ace, but it will happen during a horrible round. Extra bonus that your entire round was memorable.

Way cool . Congrats. I find myself thinking this a lot . Try your best not to get in a car wreck on the way to the course. Very punctual playing partners is why .

Thanks!  I hope there are many more to come.  I had a snowball's chance in hell of making one yesterday on a course that I don't play on much.  Stunk the place up and started to lose count of just how many strokes it took to put the damn thing in the cup.  Hole-in-One Boy had reality kick him in the backside and let him know that he still borders on being a hack.  Today I will try to get back on course.

Congrats! I had my closest call this year, 8 inches.

Still feels great when they are close.  My biggest peeve is missing the "gimme" putts that happens way too many times.

The first time I ever played my home course I had one 3 inches from this same hole.  Come to think of it, that was just over a year ago.  That one was from 20-30 yards farther back and they seem to take forever to come down.  We thought it was in because it also disappeared.  I did not get too worked up like one guy did because I knew there was a chance it was sitting on the green behind the flag stick.  My first birdie on that course will always be remembered.
