What'd You Shoot Today?

I played a quick 9 yesterday and shot a 37. I usually make a stupid mistake when I play through other groups. Yesterday I played through a 2 some on a par 5. I got up to the tee box, took a nice easy swing, and hit my drive down the gut. Drove out to my ball, hit a nice easy 3w, and stuck it about 7 feet for eagle. Drove up to the green and missed one of the straightest putts I have had in a week! I told myself to not leave it short since it was for eagle. I guess that little extra speed was too much because it lipped out on the right side. I had a tap in birdie but that would have been my first eagle of this year. My GIR weren't great but I did very well getting up and down for par.

Shot Even today on nine holes from the tips. 5/7 Fwys hit, 7/9 GIR. Birdied 1 and 6, Bogey'd 8 and 9. Not the way I wanted to finish, but I was ballstriking well. The bogeys were the result of club selection and flew the green. I'm very happy with the way my game is coming along, and I'm even happier I finally settled in with my new Titleist 909. I'm starting to believe this is my year to get my hcp low become a real player.

Played 9 holes today, shot +4(38). Really good day, although not great scoring day. Worked with my teacher this morning and he corrected my drives. At practice, couldn't hit a shot for anything. 30 Min later on the course, beaming them down the center, cutting corners, shaping perfectly. Iron play was dead on too, hit 5 out of 9 greens, but misses were all contained within 10 yards of the green. Couldn't make a putt for anything, but that was more an impatient short game than bad putting. I did make a 2 inch put which almost gave me a hole in one on a 124 yard par 3, 50 feet below. Thought I missed the green because there was nothing on, turns out, the white ball blended in with lip of the cup so it was hidden from view.

I shot an 84 (+13). It was cloudy, with barely any sun, but there was no wind so it was great. The round started off very well but deteriorated after about 6 holes. I think it was a combination of overthinking my shots and not committing to them.

In the past week I have shot an 88 and an 87 on a par 72 course.

And today I shot a 3 over 39 on a 9 hole par 36 course which was my first time breaking 40. It was pretty awesome and I am happy that my game is rounding into form again. I had 5 one putts, 3 two putts and 1 zero putt (putted in from the fringe) which is fantastic for me.

Time to hit the range... one of my most inconsistent nines in a long time. from the tips, 5 over after 5, gitting off the tee fine, couldn't putt. Parred 16 and bogeyed out after my driver went east. Short game saved me from having a much worse than 8 over 9...

Shot a disappointing 81...I was missing greens like crazy. I am working on some swing changes and thought that I was doing pretty well, but it seems that some of my old swing crept back in yesterday. The good thing about my changes are that my misses are better than they were....if there is such a thing! My putting was also off yesterday and that is usually one of my stronger points. I think that was a lack of concentration because of my full swing frustration. We will see next time...

My local Par 9 - which is a 35 and shot a 44.
Ok, this was on Wednesday, but I never got a chance to come online to post.

Again, some great shots followed by some really poor ones ;?. Played the Par 4 - 440 Yards, on in two, but 3 putted for a Bogey.

2nd hole - par 5, messed up a bit on this with a Double Bogey.

Overall, very happy with the progress. A lot of GIRs and delighted with Recovery Shots.
Bad points, include general mis-hits. I occasionally top it or fluff it, and it brings me down because on 2 holes I did this where I managed to save Bogey, and you are left thinking..

But, on the plus side. Certainly a lot of progress.
Back out tomorrow, might play 18 or just 9, but want to build on my decent form from Wed.

happy golfing folks

Shot 61 on 9 holes today. I can feel myself getting better. I hit a couple of real nice shots. Still having trouble off the Tee. especially at this course that uses's mat's as the tee box. Theres no padding underneath and I'm afraid to take a divot. I'm gona just start playing ahead of the tee box for practice.

Did terrible putting. 3 putts on all holes but 1 (2putt.) My cheap knockoff putter isn't working for crap. Hitting the ball squarly and it hops and goes where it wants. Going putter shopping tomorrow.

Normally I shoot +22 to +24; today I shot +16, best day in a while. Learning my way through new and oversized grips (to accommodate arthritic hands) plus a totally new driver. The new driver is from PineMeadow Golf and is their BK Command 10.5 degree; it is similar to a TaylorMade R7 CGB. I am finding I tend to pull shots with this driver so that is what I am working on. A nice day overall here in Houston.

I shot 53 last night. I couldn't hit the broad side of the barn from 50 yards. I spent ten minutes with the pro tonight and hit 3 unimpressive 7 irons. She had me widen my stance a tad, and bam I hit every shot dead strait with a slight fade.

Today's round was at Indian Springs in Saybrook, IL. It's another little 9 hole course with two sets of tees. It was well worth the $15 weekday greens fee. The most noticible thing about the course is that it is surrounded by giant windmills.

The course is par 72, 6331 yards, ratings of 70.5/ 121

I shot 49/45= 94

One triple bogey with a waterball and an unplayable lie under a bush on #2
Four double bogeys
Twelve bogeys
no pars

and my first birdie of the year!

21 foot uphill putt on #10 that just fell in the front of the hole, it only took 172 holes

The round also featured my long drive of the year 259 yards, OK it was a little downhill, the wind was behind me and got the help of a gravel cart path...

Last friday: 42 (+6). 2 birdies, 2 doubles, and a triple. I didn't know the course at all which annoyed me a bit because I never knew what to hit on the dog leg holes. I thought I was playing well except my score doesn't really show that. I couldn't get off the tee at all. Like I missed every fairway when I hit my driver.

Tuesday: 41 (+5). I know the course very well, so I expect to do well. I had a double bogey on a par 3 because I messed up a chip...badly. Everything else was pretty good though. The driver was not where it should be though...I'm missing everything right.

Yesterday: 39 (+3). I could never play well at this particular couse and yesterday I finally did. 2 birdies and one double. I don't like the double at all, but I liked the birdies. I hit 2 of the best iron shots I've ever hit. 135 yard knock down 9-iron to 6 feet. 160 yard 7-iron to 4 feet and almost went in for an eagle. The driver is still not cooperating. I'll fix it this weekend or today.
