Had a great round yesterday.  Not so great this morning.  Played nine, hit 6 of 9 greens and shot...42.  Ouch.  Two three putts and a blow up hole.  I need a putting intervention.

Hot and muggy today.  Was planning on playing 18 but I was walking the course and it just got too much.  Started getting into trouble off of the tee again.

42, back 9 70.1/127 and it was the best golf I've EVER played. Problem, the wind was gusting 20-30 mph and it made putting hell. I hit 83% FIR and 55% GIR, GIR is low because a few rolled on to the fringe, twice on par 3's and on one I made a sandie out of a bunker 40 yds from the flag. But the wind was very difficult to putt in, 3 putted 3 times from less than 7 feet and all were birdie attempts. 21 putts in all, half my strokes were putts. I average 1.8 per 18 through 2012-2013 and I am never as close to the hole as I was today. Bummed and excited at the same time, game is improving.

Played ok tonight. Shot a 48. Only hit 2 fairways, but most of my misses were just barely in the rough. Also managed to hit 3 greens, which is high for me. My 7 iron was absolute money.

I could have easy scored in the low 40s, but my driver is in the shop, so my distance off the tee suffered, and the greens were overgrown and soaking wet (Has rained here 16 days straight until today). Also got unlucky on a par 3, hit the cart path just over the green and rocketed way OB.

A little proof of the terrible greens...this wasn't a lob wedge, it was my 7 iron from 166 yards:

+6, 78.  Short game struggles.  had 5 easy straight forward up & downs from just off the greens that I ran the chips by 4 or 5 feet and missed the putt coming back.  That's usually money in the bank for me.  That's 2 rounds in a row...not sure what's going on.  Need to hit the practice green.

43 on a par 37 (included 4 penalties or a 39 would have been very good for me on this course).  Lots of trouble, but I was scrambling well.  Great approach shots, hit well from the fairway.  Driving and putting, not so much.

Couldn't seem to get my draw on my driver back at all.

Only 2 fairways hit

Only 4 GIR or better

But I did have one legitimate eagle opportunity.  Tough putt, which I completely left short.  Still hunting.

Shot a 100! Lost 8 balls and had 34 putts. That pretty much sums it up! Was super frustrated. I was a little hungover and didn't get much sleep the night before so I think I will blame that, but it's been a few weeks since I've had a good, solid round.

1st day of 3 day tourney. Shot 89 which isn't great but started w snowmanas found a cart path which took about 80 yds leaving the shot into gusying winds. learned a llt and only 3rd tourney saw some handicaps that were 5 or more than they should have been. but whats new. still played better than first ywo. So I'm ok with score but tomorrow I am dropping at least 5 shots. Especially if I dont have to play with one of the guys in or group who seemed to not pay attn to the rest of us. Hitting reverse while we were swinging or gunnimg cart as you swing or walking across your path. Gained at least 3 on the card because of this.

95 today, poor day off the tee... spent more time looking for my ball than actually hitting it.

99 but could not turn it in. My shots are better, putting better and retired a ball I've used for a record 37 holes. I'm driving farther. So why is my score getting worse? I probably need to play rounds instead of driving range so much to get used to the club distances again.

Shot 49/46 for a 95 at Forest Hills in Heath. 9 hole played twice 68.7/119 , course was soft, greens were dry & slow. I had two shots that I have never seen before, divot left of target, ball way right of target? First round in eight days...I however got to witness a dad with his wife and kids, launch  like 7 tee shots OB on the first tee...I have been there, i could feel his frustration. The OB line is 30 yds right of the fairway all the way. Hey above poster! I live 10 miles from Longaberger GC !...

    • If I were you I would have bought that used TS3 immediately. You got 25+ yards of carry with it and it was by far the most consistent driver you hit. What more could you ask for/be looking for? Is there a particular reason you didnt buy it right at the fitting?
    • Hey all,  I went for my first driver fitting last week and had some interesting results. The driver I brought in to replace was an older G25. I never got along with the driver and never really carried it more than 200 yards. At the time I never really knew my swing speed so I assumed it was pretty slow so I jacked up the loft to 11 and was getting some really high ballooning shots that didn't really go anywhere, however I didn't hit it too offline so I used it. I came into my fitting fully confident I was going to find something that would get me a good bit more distance.  Long story short I hit 7 different driver / shaft combinations. I had almost 0 improvement on my existing driver until the last two combinations. I have a left to right movement in my shot and the fitter was explaining that because I was spinning the ball a lot my distance was being killed. I will include the data of the combinations that were hit.  As you can see the only clubs that were even trending in the direction of more distance was the TS combinations. He said hang on a second and ran out and grabbed a used TS3 in a 9.5 head with a stiff Hazardous Smoke Shaft. With that last combination I hit 3 of the best shots of the day. It looks like he was able to get my spin down considerably with that combination. However even with the one of the shots with the TS3 spun over 3k and still carried almost 230. So it must be the combination of lowering the loft to 9.5 in combination of the low spin head / shaft that started to help get the ball out there. It is very interesting to me that the TS3 combination is getting 30 + more yards than the other combinations. He said I have a good launch angle but I was creating too much dynamic loft so the 9.5 degree head was working for me.  I guess if I were to restart my fitting all over again would I want to start with low spin heads / low spin low launch shafts? Obviously that was the only combination that was getting me anymore distance. It is interesting to see that I was swinging the TS3 combination must faster as well at around 97 mph. At 97 mph I imagine I am still leaving a good bit of distance on the table.  I would love any observations, insights, or suggestions about the fitting and the final driver selection. Is there another combination out there worth tinkering with now that I know I am creating a lot of spin and these low spinning combinations help my swing?
    • I saw parts of his basketball backboard video. Apparently he likes to mess with his wife.
