So, this may be dumb but since I'm likely going to get new irons for Christmas, I thought it'd be silly to use the new GG with my old irons when I'll just have to take them off in a month or two and put them in new irons.

In addition to that, my last round I finished the last hole with a birdie and thinking I should end the year on a good note.

That said, I really want to try this thing!  Haha

I'm being silly, right? :-$

Yeah. Just unscrew them in a month. I guess you could just use the app alone or use the existing tags with the android app and tag that way. It's basically the same thing, just less easy.

Yeah, this.

I'd check now and then (particularly after a thin shot) but you should be fine.

Yeah, I used glue like I think @Golfingdad suggested in addition to screwing them in.  I found out that with the glue it keeps them in place very well and it's not difficult to screw out as I found out a few months ago when I changed my hybrid.

Is it just Pure Grips or all grips, but I find it difficult to screw in these tags. Are the tags smaller this year? I think Pure Grips have more material in the butt end of the club, and I just can't seem to really get the tag flush with the grip.

If the grip has a slight dome, it won't necessarily sit flush.

I haven't had any problems. C'mon, weakling… put some muscle into it!

Finally got to use my GAME GOLF LIVE today...couldn't (Still cant) connect my device to Bluetooth on my phone, so I went on like I normally did with my old game golf. Ill try to figure it out and if it doesn't connect any round this weekend, Ill contact support.

Weird. Mine worked right away.

Contact support. They respond rather quickly.

I just fired it up since there is a course about 1/2 a mile from me. It connected instantly. Guess I need to connect it faster. I usually start my GG when Im walking from the range and today there was about 10 mins between then and teeing off while we picked groups and discussed wagers and whatnot, so it must have a grace period for connecting. Oh well it works now. Here's to seeing LIVE stats tomorrow. (Maybe I wont hit 2 in the water on a Par 3.

It takes a while for the GPS signal to lock on, if that's what you mean. They say to turn it on five minutes before you tee off.

I downloaded the app for my phone today and recorded 9 holes. It's very impressive (the software that is, not my round).

I don't think I'll be using the phone app anymore, but it's cool looking at all the stats.

Amazon has a lightning deal on the Live for $199, or $75 above what they're selling the Classic for. I'm surprised Game Golf is letting them discount it so steeply so soon.

I don't know that GAME has a choice.

Amazon often gets to do whatever it wants.

That might be the case. I'm still surprised; equipment manufacturers like Callaway and Taylormade make Amazon adhere to their pricing guidelines pretty strictly during initial release. I suppose Game Golf might not have the same leverage in their negotiations based on volume. But seeing a high-end product like this selling for 33% off a month after release is still surprising nonetheless. I remember the original Game Golf falling to $119 during the holidays last year, but that was after being released about a year prior.

I tried Live for the first time yesterday.  I do really like being able to see the results on the phone immediately and upload right away.  Its a big benefit, IMO, to have one app that does everything.  Its a good enough range finder, and since I can verify the score in real time I don't need to keep score elsewhere.  I also liked that I could use my old tags.  I've never had one fall out and I was worried that taking them out and putting new ones in might loosen the holes.

The only real downside in my view is that the in-app editing is not very good.  You can add or delete shots and add penalties etc.--which is great--but since there is no zoom function you can't really move the marks accurately.  And I still felt it was necessary to edit online afterwards.  UI Improvements to the app could fix that.

I am sure a lot of people will not find Live to be a major improvement.  I get that.  But I appreciate the new features.

    • More actual thoughts on the articles: Oh boy. I taught 5SK, and before that, I was S&T certified. Those experiences, for many good instructors, are additive. They're not "all" that they are. If I were to go through Scott Cowx's certification, or Dr. Kwon's, or James Ridyard's, or whomever's… I wouldn't be a "method" teacher any more than I am now. I'd be adding tools to the toolbox. He says there are "system" teachers, "non-system" teachers, and method teachers. Which one am I? A "non-system teacher"? So, I don't have any systems or structure? Or am I a "system" teacher with a bunch of branches and if/then/else statements? I don't know. The physics thing as it relates to S&T… yeah, that's already been discussed. Huh? Brendan, sorry, that part is bogus AF. Of course the arms go "around" somewhat. It's back, up, and in. Down, out, and forward. Plus, again, "energy can either be created or destroyed" isn't even right, as many of you have said. It's "neither" and it can be transformed, too. Plus, as others noted, that's typically a closed system: in our bodies we transform sugars and other things to create movement, energy. I'm going to move off this before I get totally annoyed… "These are the pontifications of a method" — no, the specific example he cited is the way everyone who has ever played good golf moves their hands - back, up, and in. The clubhead moves that way, too. I've seen this happen. This part might be the most accurate part of the article (it's no longer clear whether he's talking about this fellow or just talking in general here.) "Now here’s the sinister thing: The overwhelming information is by design." — If the instructor is as incompetent as he says, he's likely not doing any of this "by design." He doesn't sound bright enough to do so. WTF does that have to do with anything? Probably happens to some extent sometimes, but is that the instructor's fault? Or the student for not recognizing it? Also, again, this instructor doesn't seem to be bright (not that this article even really talks about the instructor anymore), so… I doubt he's doing all of this intentionally. People are found out eventually. I'm at a point where I get a lot of referrals from people who have noticed their friends playing better golf, and ask. Or people want to brag about their improvements, and that sells their friends. "As a result, these players couldn’t play golf." — Huh? I think he just observed when he was there. Not that he went out of his way to watch. 😄
    • I am dying..🤣 Can one of yall come and pick me up from the floor?
    • If you can’t, attack it. That’s the new age ideology.
    • Is it possible that he writer is full of shit himself? "After months of listening and watching...". Yeah right, cuz that's so normal for writers do that just to get a single article out of the massive endeavor. I mean unless you are angling for a Rant-Pulitzer (Yup, it is a thing.. like, totally).
