i just don't see anyone in the top ten that could challenge him.  Rory and Phil are 5 out.  If he goes into Saturday with a 6 stroke lead. He can put it on cruise and just play to a 70 both days and it's over.  His mastery of the greens is unmatched. He knows exactly where to put the ball on his approach, and very rarely leaves himself with one of those "Back to the hole putt".

Spieth can make 29 consecutive pars and stay in the lead through Saturday night. I'd even go as far to say that should be his strategy right now. That said, if the forecast for Sunday is correct, -6 is not winning this tournament. He's going to have a target on his back the rest of the way. Jordan is probably best served by putting his game in cruise control until the back nine on Sunday; but when the field inevitably catches up to him, will he be able to respond?

Was having this discussion with a co-worker and it's an interesting topic. Do you want to see Jordan run away with this ala Tiger Woods did in '97.....or do you want him to hit the bogey train so we have a close contest over the weekend. I'm conflicted because I love seeing dominance in the sport and history made, but at the same time, I want to see a Jordan-Rory battle...with a little Day included.

And another birdie for Spieth.

It's getting ridiculous how much the conditions are impacting anyone playing who isn't named Jordan Spieth.

And Rose goes to +2 on the day.

I think there's a lot of golf left to be played, and Jordan has a long tightrope walk between minimal risk and complacency ahead of him. This course isn't afraid to bite back.

He's -1 on the day so it must be working for him! ;-)

Personally, I love seeing great golf being played. If it's one guy breaking out of the pack, or a group of players pushing each other to play great for the win it's great to watch IMO.

Spieth playing great in tough conditions would be the former. McIlroy or Day coming out on top at PGAs the latter.

Rory two putt birdie.  Gets to -2 and T2

I'd be cool if Rory and Spieth are the last twosome out tomorrow and Rory makes a run.

Rory needs to get to at least -3 for that.  Since Lee and Piercy finished before he did at -2.

DeChambeau's a three-footer away from being T2, and Spieth is still away.

Spieth is going to drop back to -6.

Spieth has dropped a few shots, so he may be mortal after all.

Dang, for an amatuer, this DeChambeau guy isn't half bad.

Crazy control and strategical plotting around the course. He's gonna be good for a long time. Still think he lacks the ability to go uber low when needed though given his playing style.

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
