I mean, he's not real anyway so does his name matter? The rest of the post is solid and that's what you took away from it?

Yeah, it is rude and if he truly wanted people who believe in him to get the point he was trying to make he would have wrote his name correctly instead of mocking one of the great Prophets of God.  I agree with @Jeremie Boop on this one.  Let's keep this thread classy and not attack other people's beliefs.

"Jebus" really?

Because not using the actual name detracts from the message trying to be delivered. A lot of people believe that Jesus was/is real and by using a different name than that is disrespectful. And, it's not the first time that he's used a different name when referring to someone. So, yeah, that's what I took away from it.

Yes really. It is taken from the Simpsons.
From a character who goes to Church every sunday, yet does not know the name of the guy he is praying to.
similarly as the Politicians who like to talk about their faith, yet don't know about what the guy really stood for!

@Jeremie Boop, it is not to take a dig at your belief or faith in anyway. It is not to question your beliefs or debate your beliefs, It is a symbol of the hypocrisy of those who say they believe, yet don't follow.

Fair enough. Since this truck a chord with you i'll assume you are a believer or participate in some organized religion. Which candidate did you cast your vote for in your states primary?

You might have been able to pull this off - if you explained your reference at the time (Could've been as simple as hyperlinking a youtube clip from the show to your use of the word).  As it is, though, it just comes across as impolite.  @Jeremie Boop is right that it actually hurts your message as well.

Now, back to the topic (which is not religion)

so I have said it to my more religious friends, what if Jebus came back and he is Bernie Sanders?
What if this is the Last Judgment?

So once again I am surprised that Cruz (not so much Trump) would not open his arms to the poor or immigrants. I am surprised that they don't want to allow them in, cloth them, protect them, feed them and wash their feet!

"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."- ‎Matthew 19:21

+1.    For Cruz, I think it's the POTUS first before his faith.

I got your reference. Homer shows up late to church, talking about all the horrible people he has to see while there (who can hear him because hes talking loud) and then says "praise jebus" and turns on a nice face when he sees all these people who are clearly unhappy with him, but he doesn't notice. Either because he doesn't care or he's too stupid to get it. Either way it parallels pretty well.

I'm not religious, and I'm not voting for anyone if what we have to choose from are these choices. Try to justify using a different name however you want, it only hurts your message. But truth be told all this is off topic, so I'll drop it.

To get us out of the unfortunate rut above, how about BILL for President:

Bill Clinton defended one of his wife Hillary's most controversial comments during a heated exchange with protesters Thursday afternoon in Philadelphia. The former president's speech was interrupted by protesters upset with the Clinton legacy of welfare reform and mass incarceration of minorities, prompting Bill to defend her infamous use of the phrase "superpredators" to describe black youth in 1996. "I don't know how you would describe the gang leaders who got 13-year-olds hopped up on crack and sent them out in the streets to murder other African-American children," he said while looking directly at the protesters, "Maybe you thought they were good citizens, [Hillary] didn't." He added: "You are defending the people who kill the lives you say matter."

Bill knows how to put people in place and he is a charmer ... lol.

Agreed, Bill looks better in hindsight after 8 years of GW and almost 8 years of Obama.  I'd probably take him over Hillary and Sanders though.  I bet Bill is happy he can get some Cuban cigars now.

If we can get around the 22nd amendment I would gladly vote for Clinton a 4th time!
He is the ultimate politician, smooth at the podium and on point. I have read that face to face he is beyond super charismatic.

He could always run as VP have Hillary quit on her 2nd day and allow Bill to finish her term.

But I have a feeling if Trump gets the GOP nomination even after a contested convention the GOP in the house and Senate may be willing to repeal the 22nd amendment!

Bill can't be V.P. either.  I don't see Trump getting the GOP nomination but I'd take him over a third term of Obama.  If Trump plays Obama's plea to the SCOTUS to sign an executive order that provides healthcare to illegal aliens he could gain back some of his popularity.  These people are criminals and now Obama wants to reward them with benefits of citizenship, smh.

July 2015 - "It was a point Obama has made before when faced with questions of whether the president’s healthcare law would mean millions of undocumented immigrants would suddenly get free healthcare through Obamacare. Under the law, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal coverage, including Medicare and nonemergency Medicaid, however they could access emergency care under federal law. They also cannot purchase private health insurance through state insurance exchanges, according to the National Immigration Law Center." Headline was Obama makes point that illegal aliens will not receive benefits ....

Don't think Obama is concerned with his popularity although it is going up as this campaign continues.

I think we are wasting some talent with former presidents. After about 8 years, we should allow them to run for one 4 year term -- having had time to reflect on their failures and successes, the probability is that they'd be better than they were the first time.

Illegal Immigrants can walk into any hospital and receive care (thanks socialism).
At very least with Healthcare, they can pay a portion of their bill and the insurance company can make a profit (yeah capitalism!!!)

As long as Cheney was not involved ... or the neo-cons, and Colin Powell was the VP. But I don't think GWB enjoyed it and let's face it, GWB was a great guy to share a beer or in his early days something illegal like our other baby boomer Presidents, but he wasn't mentally ready to be President ... is not strong enough mentally or intellectually ...  but Bill, he would enjoy it.

I think Hillary, even though she is the Democrats least electable candidate, is the best candidate for the GOP in 2016. It will stave off the demise of the Republican Party. It would give them a unifying cause. Think about the 24 years of hate they have bottled up and ready to unleash on her. And she's as corporate a Democrat as you can get. She'll give them what they want, too, all while right wing talk radio and FOX News is whipping up the GOP base telling the people what a horrible job she's doing. Meanwhile the big banks and all the GOP beneficiaries get richer under her policies. In 2018 the GOP will retake the House and Senate, and the witch hunts will start again. They'll look for links between the Clinton Foundation and the Panama Papers. In 2020 people will hold their noses and re-elect Hillary because the GOP puts up some loser for slaughter like they did Dole in 1996. Do you really think they'd want to beat her in 2020? No way. She's too much of a lightning rod. They'd have 28 years of hate invested and more committee investigations ongoing to keep their Senators and Representatives in the public eye and on TV.

A Sanders presidency, however, could spell doom for the GOP. He's too clean. He's the most electable candidate for the Democrats because he could bring out enough independents to vote and allow the Democrats to take back both houses by large margins. This could allow him to get a lot of his agenda through in his first two years.

OTOH, they could be worse than their first time.

If Mrs. Clinton wins the general election, we get two Clintons for a price of one.   I get the feeling that Mr. Clinton will play a key unofficial adviser role.

Trump's presidency will divide the country further ever before.   There will be demonstrators on every policy he makes.   Civil unrest, riots will become prevalent.  White supremacist groups will be emboldened.  Minorities will feel left out.  US will be a laughing stock from the eyes of international politics.    Relationship between US and China, Mexico, Israel, Middle East, ..., will worsen.     After his 1st (and only) term, there will be nothing left of GOP and DEM will have the POTUS, senate, and congress for the next 20 years.

So, I say, vote for Kasich or Sanders.   Send all donation for their campaign to me.   I accept paypal, and major credit cards.   :-D

    • I have been debating getting a launch monitor of some sort, if only so I can re-figure my shot zones (I haven't actually mapped them in years) and also to practice distance wedges at home.  I have to see if this works with either my current setup, or what my setup would be if I move it to the garage.
    • Day 48, June 23.  After work today, I took 25 minutes in my practice room;  6-iron, same everything as yesterday except the time and count.
    • Well, this is interesting.  I think we discovered a few months ago that I haven't been following professional golf in a while (my confusion about Scotty's footwork confirmed that), so at least as I aim to follow a bit more I'll get something new to learn with all of you.  My very quick read of Erik's summary makes me think this new Challenger series fits somewhere between Korn Ferry and the Championship (not Champions, but I know I'm going to make that mistake a few times if I'm not careful!).   My recollection is that there were already second-tier events among the PGA Tour;  the Bob Hope didn't have the same quality of field as the event at Riviera (whose current name I forget, although now that I say that, I realize the Palm Springs event hasn't been called the Bob Hope in a few years either).   With the absence of the FedEx (if I'm reading that correctly), does that mean no more FedEx Cup at all? Hopefully I'll have time later in 2026 to sit down and see what we're in for in 2027, where one of my goals already is to follow more professional golf.
    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.
