Don't know if it was accurate, but I saw a guy on the news specifically say that this is a "1000 year storm."

That is shocking to me since, as a civil engineer, I have never seen reference to such a thing.  Our worst case design storms are always 100 year.  I don't even think any of our reference materials go past 100 year storms.

I dont care how many years. I would like to see some rain out here.

You don't want this. At least 23 dead. many more with homes and businesses destroyed. #17 green with 18 tee and clubhouse in background

Top is the viaduct going under Rt 60 connecting #1 to #2 on the Greenbrier course. Next is the remnants of a cart path and the third shows the normal summer height of Summersville lake with it's current height.

Homes washed off foundations, infrastructure completely destroyed. The people who have homes that weren't destroyed have no utilities and it could be months before service is returned.

They just announced the tournament there was cancelled.  It's a shame, they could use the money now more than ever.  I hope the PGA Tour donates some money to the area.

Wow, just Wow.   The pictures put things in perspective.   You have to feel for the people in the area.

The picture of Summersville Lake is insane.  The part of WV that I live in got hit hard, in that we got a ton of rain over a short period of time, but if you would have told me a few miles south they essentially got wiped out I wouldn't have believed it based on what hit us.  It's amazing how different a few miles can make things.  I'm able to go out and play my local course (albeit with 2 holes closed and another getting a temporary lake), but the damage at the Greenbriar is just brutal.
