I don't usually got a lot of leeway at the end of the day. About the limit for me is 4:30 on the home complex's par-3 if I'm going all 18. If traffic is ok out there, I can get around in 2 hours or less. On rare occasions, I'll do the front 9 at 5:30.

I've started and finished 18 at 7 pm. In a cart on an almost completely empty course. The lady at the counter when I paid gave me a bit of a nasty look and said "make sure you are done by 9:30 pm" and I parked the cart and was walking to my car at 9:25 pm.

Walking 9, started at 7:15 pm, finished by 8:45 pm. The guys in the shop don't give me any dirty looks or anything because they know I don't mess around. I always finish in 1hr 30m or less.

Like the others have said......

I've teed off after 7pm and played 18 holes before dark.   What time exactly?  I have no clue....   I obviously didn't intend to play 18, but got lucky not to hit on course traffic.

When I lived in Southwest Oklahoma, I've putted out on the 18th hole as late as 9:15 PM. Lawton is on the far west end of the Central time zone, so in June you could still see OK until quite late. The fact there's a lot of sunshine and clear skies helped this.

2 days ago I started an 18 hole round at 6:40pm. Finished at 10:00pm.

Onte time I played till 10:35pm, but it was really hard to track your ball on the last two holes. I was playing 18, starting at 7:20pm.

Latest time I started a 9 hole round is probably around 8:00pm.

We have a lighted 9 holer available out here. 7-8+ pm rounds are pretty commom.

As for daylight only, probably 6, or 7 pm is my latest. It not getting full dark till almost 9pm now.

I remember a few years back I finished walking my round. Apparently they forgot I was still on the course when they closed up. I had to climb over a 4' fence to get to my car. As I was climbing over the fence, two cops in their prowl care pulled into the parking lot. I had a little explaining to do.

The latest was around 7:30pm for me for nine holes, though I try to get out before 7. On one of the courses, I get a tenth hole because that one goes into the clubhouse instead of the ninth :-)

The latest I can remember for sure was a few years ago in Scotland.  Four of us started our second 18-hole round at Royal Dornoch at 4 PM, and finished at just about 8.  We'd have been done earlier, but we had to wait on the group in front of us a good bit, so we were almost late for our 8 PM dinner reservation.  There was plenty of light, we certainly could have played past 10 PM if we had needed to.

OK this is a good question for me.

Back in about 1980ish (I would have been 20) I played a round and hit a few balls on the range of the course I was a member of (Stover GC, Devon, UK) and had a quick beer outside the clubhouse before thinking about getting back home. At 8:30 in the evening I thought i could get another nine in as the course was empty and it was middle of the summer. I tee'd off and ripped it round nine holes in no time at all and was level par so I carried on even though it was starting to get dark. The upshot is that I scored a 66 gross in one and a half hours finishing at 10:00PM. It was a sublime round because I did not have any time to think about any shot. I never hit a bad shot. I just walked up, cursory glance and hit it. Talk about in the zone!

I've shot 62 before but still recall this as being about the most memorable round ever for me.
