He had great range and was one of the better actors of the 70s and 80s.   Although Stir Crazy was a hilarious movie, I laughed and laughed at See No Evil, Hear No Evil.   He was a unique and wonderful individual.

Sad. But, like the title of the old George Harrison album, All Things Must Pass.

One night my brother and I were having dinner with our Mom. Somehow the subject of movies was raised, and Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein came up. We discovered that our Mom had never seen either film. So plans were made for a couple of "Movie Nights with Mom". My bro provided the DVD's, and we provided the food.

My Mom being in her early 80's at the time, we weren't sure how she'd react to the films. I'm delighted to report that she howled with laughter. Mom always did have an active and acute sense of humor. She thanked us for showing her two of the funniest movies she had ever seen!

RIP Gene Wilder.

Very sad at his passing, but grateful he gave us so much laughter. Young Frankenstein is my all time favorite comedy and he wrote that.

He was a big part of my early movie years. I can easily recite or act out Willy Wonka, in its entirety. It is far and away better than the source material (but that is just 1 golfers opinion).
Who can not quote, atleast minimally, Blazing Saddles ("Excuse me while I whip this out") Or Young Frankenstein "it's FrankenSteen!!!!"
Even his lesser successful films like Lady in Red were lessons in acting & comedy!

Brilliant individual!

The funniest scene I remember of this dude was in Young Frankenstein when Igor picks him up at the train station or whatever.  They're making small talk and Wilder goes Ya know, I can probably help you with that hump.  And Igor goes What hump?  Then Wilder looks away all awkward like.  Hilarious!

He did make great movies. Saw most of them.  Even remember Haunted Honeymoon with his wife Gilda. His movies with Pryor were fantastic.  Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are comedy classics and as funny today as ever. Kids still know him as Willy Wonka  "a little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men"

Rest In Peace.

AMC Movie Theaters, 55 of them are going to show Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Blazing Saddles this Saturday and Sunday.  In the article I read, with the PC correct world that we live in, would Blazing Saddles ever get green-lit today?  Probably not, and with as much people get their butt hurt over being offended by everything, will they need safe spaces for the delicate snowflakes that can't stand satire after watching Blazing Saddles.

Waco Kid - What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
