Wanted to see if this was common.  Been playing great over the summer.  I have shot several rounds in the upper 60's and have been keeping my average rounds in the low- mid 70's.   I played a round when I was at the beach in September and shot a 92!!!  Today I shot a 90 on a course that I shot a 73 on 3 days ago!

What i notice is these rounds Happen when I am fatigued.  I was hung over and dehydrated when I shot that 92.  Today I felt sluggish and exhausted.  I was hunting most of the morning yesterday... Then spent 3 hours at the range and short game area and worked out for 2 hours last night.   Is this a common occurrence to completely lose your game when your tired or exhausted?  I chunked more shots today than in my last 15 rounds

I'd say for most people, yes.  I know some of my worst rounds are when I'm fatigued and I didn't eat properly that morning or something.  My swing feels the same, but I'm willing to bet that the timing is off and I'm not generating the same speed that I would otherwise.

All that said... I'm pretty sure you need to update your index in your profile.

Lol... I should keep it at 15...if I keep playing like today.

I felt jittery and " off" today. I had no energy.   I am hoping I can get 1 more good round in before the snow hits. I do not want to go into the winter remembering snap hooks with my driver, a mild case of the chipping yips and fatting a ton of irons.

I'm struggling to understand the question.  You're a 2 hcp, and are wondering whether being fatigued and hungover could significantly affect your score?  :-\

I am trying to see if this is common. We are not talking about a minor fluctuation in score.  These are 2 complete disaster rounds.  I am trying to put my mind at ease some and would like to blame the round on severe fatigue.  The other thought that keeps running through my head is that my swing has fallen apart.  I play with other low handicappers and some plus handicappers.  When they have a bad round it may creep into the low 80's and when my round falls apart it hits the 90's.

It's common for me.   I usually shoot in the high 80s.   If I'm having a rough day before the golf course or didn't sleep well the night before, it is usually reflected on the course.

Tiger made the reference yesterday about fatigue causing him to not finish strong.

I'm not in your league, fluctuating between 5 and 7, but I can still shoot 74 one day and follow it up with a 92....without being hungover as an excuse.  Hell, Friday I shot 83.  47/36.  Better than 36/47 I guess, but still....

If there is a golfer out there that golfs a flat line  70, 80, 90, whatever, from week to week must be nice.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Last week I shot 85 at a par 72 course. The next day I shot 84 at an exec course. Go figure, golf is hard

I had one of the worst rounds in recent memory while on vacation a couple of years ago and yes I was very, very H.O.

We got to the OBX on Saturday night, and I had no idea that my buddy had arranged to play Curituck Club the next day. So I knocked back half a bottle of bourbon and chased that with half a case of beer, figuring I'd sleep till 3 p.m. Got woken up at 10 a.m. and proceeded to drown a dozen balls en route to a 115. Painful in more ways than one.

I did get my revenge later in the week.

We all have blow up rounds, its part of golf.  I don't recall playing with a hangover or being sore from the previous day... I gotta work on new excuses!!! :-D

What I do need when I golf is food.  Not a gross dog at the turn that has been sitting in water for hours.... yuck!  I bring a couple of sandwiches, a bag of mixed nuts and a couple of waters.  This is all I need unless I feel like tilting a brewski or two back.

It's definitely common, Just look at the pros. It seems like every week someone throws up a big number and they are the best in the world. Being hungover or exhausted is definitely gonna have some impact, if you're not able to concentrate because you feel terrible it is going to be hard to score well.
