My squad showed up this week...finally!!!  Made a stupid decision to bench Fowler yesterday, though.

Driver: Cobra FlyZ | 9.5 Degrees Draw | Fujikura Pro 63 Tour Spec
Fairway Wood: Cobra F7 3-4 Wood | 14.5 degrees | Fujikura Pro 65
Hybrid: Cobra F7 3-4H | 19 degrees | Fujikura Pro 75H
Irons: Srixon Z545 (4-Iron) | Srixon Z 765 (5-PW)
Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 | 50 F Grind | 54 M Grind | 58 K Grind
Putter: Odyssey O-Works 1W WBW

150 points for the week.  Steele, Mickelson, and Holmes helped.

It would have been 158 if I had remembered Friday night instead of Saturday morning to swap Charley Hoffman in for Justin Thomas.  This should be a lesson in performance chasing!

Ranked 31, far removed from 30... but there's plenty of time!

The first real test of the fantasy season - three courses, and morning & afternoon groupings.
Tentative team is selected, but waiting for pairings to make adjustments.

Good luck - I managed a decent week with Rickie & Matsuyama, they made up for losing 1/2 my team to the cut.

So pairings and course rotation are posted, time to get out you Ouija boards to figure out your team for the week.

Here is my helpful (or not so helpful tip), from Rob Boltons twitter feed:
1) Pebble; 2) MPCC; 3) Spy
1) Spy; 2) Pebble; 3) MPCC
1) MPCC; 2) Spy; 3) Pebble

And it is looking to be wet Thur/Fri - so who knows what that will mean for schedule, always an issue if they can't finish a round and have to shuttle players back & forth the next day

I made changes while round 2 was still being played this morning, but they didn't take effect for round 3. Sigh.

Huh, I used to think about alternate courses (not as much times) back in the "best ball" fantasy era.  It hasn't dawned on me to do this in the current format.  I'll keep a heads up.

DJ Spieth and Rahm have been good to me this week!  Debating swapping out Rose for Snedeker... worth a start of his to collect something if he finishes well tomorrow, which I think he will?  ... well I have a few hours to ponder!

Yes, good strategy to use for Career Builder and Torrey Pines too. I think this is the last tournament of the season that uses multiple courses....

Nice picks for you at Pebble, I glanced at my results & even if I would change my players every round and pick the 20+ points on my bench I'd still be about 25 points behind that lineup.

This is my first year playing, what's your strategy when it comes to playing some of the more consistent players?  Is it wise to sit some of the main guys (dj, speith, day), periodically even if you think they are the best choice so you can play them later in the year?  I finally made the climb towards the top of the leaderboard but a little concerned I might be shooting myself in the foot for the long season.

That is a great question and IMO you only get to play someone in 10 tournaments so there is no penalty if you play them when they play well. The issue is playing them when the don't play well, miss a cut, someone runs away for several rounds and effectively zeros the field or WD and they are in your lineup. No tournaments have bonus points (ie majors are not double points).
It does get interesting when there are limited field events, especially at the end of the season. But my best advice is to play whoever you think is hot, or plays well at a certain event or course. I shot myself in the foot by not playing Justin Thomas in week 2 after having him in my lineup week 1.
At the end of the day/week/season make the best choice at the time and hope they play well.

Hey guys, am I too late to join the Yahoo group again?

I've been playing since week 1, just forgot to join the group

I did that with a group a year or two ago, if I recall correctly you join and all of your weeks count.
If not join anyway, because why not

Oh yeah and WELCOME

    • What technology? There’s not much. Or a spreadsheet. 🤣😜
    • I was thinking about what you suggested on this. And it's very possible its true.  I was also thinking, why wouldn't they have a piece of software that tells them something like: "If you drill the shaft hole at x angle and the shaft is y long, but the weights in A, B and C locations at D, E and F amounts? I mean we aren't modelling anything here that isn't a known relationship?  I've been in the manufacturing world a long time (33 years.) I've worked for and seen tons of manufacturers in the US who can handle one-piece flow with no hiccups what so ever.  I would love to take a plant tour and offer my services to these guys. On a whim, I looked on their webpage and they do have two positions available. A fulfillment associate and a fitting representative. Both at positions are at their plant in OR. Neither of these was a lean manufacturing engineer so I moved on.  I apologize for beating this dead horse.  I'm not sure why the cost adder for custom built from standard parts bothers me so much. It could be because I've worked so many places that just have you build up a nomenclature which relates to a build sheet and end of line test. Which equals no cost adder for standard parts. Maybe it's because I once toured the Roles Royce plant in England and thought "I'd never feakin buy one of these cars." Maybe I've been spoiled by PXG and Mizuno, the last two places I've order custom fit irons from. They customized each club including lie angle tweaks, loft tweaks, length tweaks, weight port tweaks, etc... No cost adder.
