It dropped a little, 2-3% fewer rounds played according to my quick in the head  calculation. 26-27K rounds. It's a high green fee course, would be interesting to see comparisons to similar courses in Westchester. Doesn't a typical course get 45K rounds? The NYC munis I read get over 100K rounds. And I don't agree with the weather assessment of course representative. 2016, not a rainy summer, mild winter.

I'm nearby and have yet to play there, it's certainly not about politics, would love to go but the price is just too much, it's a top course so the cost is justified but can't do it, maybe for a special day.

$175 = 1 round of golf for an NYC resident at Ferry Point

$175 = 5.5 rounds of golf at Van Cortlandt.

Not IMO. The course is well maintained, and has a good practice facility, but it's hardly a top course, even for the area. It's pretty monotonous, and the views are below average for most of the round. Bethpage Black is a much better value, especially for NYS residents. $80 on weekends.

$50 to practice on the range and it's mats only. Just... No...

I'm complaining because I'm living in an area where practice facilities for the normal person is just abominable.

I imagine it's to discourage people from coming to the course just to practice.  It probably isn't $50 for range balls if you're playing.

That's true. Apparently, it's not uncommon for mats only. And for some reason, in the NYC area, most public ranges that have grass have it on weekends only.

So pull carts are out because it is a "bad look", but practice carpet is ok. Go figure.

NYC is an interesting place to visit, but I sure wouldn't want to live there.
